Is Naruto a "proud" character? I mean, he was always getting his ass kicked, made fun of, and pushed around as a kid...

But is he really that person anymore? Has he become proud and arrogant: similar to A? Does Naruto need to be knocked down a peg or two, as well?

Or has Naruto been doing that all along?

I have some arguments for both sides on Naruto, but I wanted to hear others' thoughts before I concluded one way or the other.

Depends on how you view his current mindset.

Personally I see it as "NAH AH A IM RIGHT UR WRAUNG IMMA GO SAVE DA DAY **** WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS IS BEST," but then Naruto has lost a lot of favor with me.

Also,"DONT TALK LIEK YOU KNOW MY DAD."

"You had, what, a five minute conversation with him? I think it's safe to say I know him better than you. 🙂"

I see Naruto as a very selfish character. Because it was basically proven to him that what he's doing is bad, and the best he could come up with is "it would hurt my feelings". Really, who cares. Ninja are tortured, degraded, and killed to fulfill their missions and somehow he should get special treatment and not have to "feel ashamed"?

I think he needs to learn that there's a difference between "standing up for yourself" and "blindly ignoring anyone offering good sense about your ridiculous ideas".

But Naruto does get special treatment. He's directly ignoring the orders of his Hokage and she's just like 'oh I feel so bad for doing this to you Naruto.'

God damn am I starting to hate Naruto.

Naruto, while being stupid, is not as bad as A in the last chapter. 😮

Of course. Anyone opposing Naruto must instantly become even more irrational and crazy that Naruto himself is being.

It's just good storytelling.

Personally, I see similarities with this in the Sasuke vs Raikage fight where Gaara saved Sasuke from a thorough ass-kicking.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be any different if he were there in Tsunade's place either.

A might come off as a bit of a jerk, but this is nothing new!! A pretty much told Naruto that he was a tool back when he begged him to spare Sasuke.

I don't really get how making sense=bad TheAuraAngel

A may be talking big to intimidate Naruto into backing down.

His goal is to prevent both hosts from reaching the battlefield. Up to and including killing *if necessary*, but it's not necessarily necessary, stopping them works just as well.

Outside of saying he'd kill naruto, I thought everything he said was right and made sense. And even that, was just a threat; it would be strange for him to do that when he could easily just knock him out or incapacitate him in some way.

Did not strike me as a threat. Seemed A really did truly mean to kill Naruto.

And the reason A is a dumbass, or reasons actually are rather obvious. First of all, if you want to get someone as stubborn as Naruto to see where your coming from, don't insult him and his Dad. That just reinforces him. Makes him think you just really don't get where he is coming from at all.

Second was actually saying he'd kill Naruto. Holy shit would that be the worst mistake A could make. You realize how freaking pissed Tsunade, Kakashi, and Gaara would be? Not only that but it would be A directly doing something without the consent of the other leaders. If the SA didn't break apart from infighting, it would still be weakened. Would you want to be on the same team as someone who kills one of your friends just because said friend is being difficult?

What Naruto is doing is idiotic. I completely understand that. However, Naruto has been told he is some big Chosen One, has gotten one big power up, and has his sights set on saving the world. Stupid? Yes. Unreasonable? Yes. Understandable? Absolutely. I don't get why A is so pissed that he would deliberately risk the stabilization of the SA just because Naruto is giving him shit. Not the mark of a good leader.

It is worth noting at this point that I have never liked A as a character. I like Bee though. 😛

A still has to keep the pimp-hand strong 😎

Plus wouldn't you want to kill someone being this irrational. It' doesn't really matter much what Gaara and Tsunade think since the Mizukage and Onoki would probably agree to this. Naruto is also unreliable on the battlefield due to not being able to control the fox-form perfectly.

I'm pretty sure that if all these villages can suck up decades of animosity for each other, I'm pretty sure that they'd understand Naruto's death if it was for the good of the war.

Besides' A's course of action is a hell of a lot better than Tsunade's course of action who pretty much sat on one spot this chapter.

Mei and Onoki do not strike me as people who would like it if you made an important decision behind their back. 😮

And Gaara's opinion matters quite a lot. He was the one who out right rallied the whole army together for the single purpose of protecting his friend. If A killed Naruto, Gaara would start to hate A. And then we got that cycle of hatred bull that would tear the army to pieces.

And no, killing Naruto, which I've come to realize he was planning to do so since if it was a bluff Naruto would have pointed it out, would have been worse than allowing Naruto into battle. Naruto would at least have protection on the battlefield, though likely would not be enough to change anything.

Once again, Tsunade would have been good for this kind of thing so that A and Naruto's confrontation wouldn't even boil to this point. True Onoki and Mei wouldn't approve of untrustworthy actions such as this but their ninja, surely they would be used to this?

Gaara's speech did serve it's purpose but it was kind of bull nonetheless how successfully it work. Guy A and Guy B going from death-threat's to handshakes is pretty BS.

Even if they let Naruto out, wouldn't that just draw Madara and possibly Edo Itachi and Nagato. What are the SA supposed to do against people that are not only more powerful than their kages, but also have the power to make biju their pets.

I understand you see A a a prick for beating on Naruto simply because he's an idiot, but really what options do you have when Naruto is the liability out of the two hosts and is talking about "I'm going because my friends are hurt" instead of thinking logically.

Well you don't kill him for one thing.

Anyone know what would happen if he did kill him. He said they could get a new host for the Kyuubi, so I guess its not going to just burst from his chest upon death. But still, with Naruto drawing so heavily on its power, it seems like a risk to me.

Edit: Maybe if they just try to talk to him for more than 30 seconds.

The SA is what the title suggests: An Alliance of Shinobi. The minute one shinobi starts making decisions without the consent of the others, it falls apart. If the leaders are incapable of working together, the armies will be incapable.

Hmm...interesting idea that I hadn't thought of. Using Naruto or Bee to directly draw Madara and Kabuto out into the open...and then capture them. Now that I think about, I don't know why this wasn't done before.

Knocking Naruto out and taking him back would have been the best solution. Given Bee for whatever reason wasn't going to let that happen, there was virtually nothing they could do. Neither of them could stop Bee if he truly wanted to kill them both.

And has Meowth pointed out, talking would help. Not insulting his dad might also have been beneficial.

Too risky. If they manage to escape with Bee or Naruto they would be one step away from game over world.

Trusting Naruto and Bee to behave themselves is risky too. 😛

Good chapter, I hope A can beat some humility and common sense into Naruto... but I doubt that will happen.

Kakashi needs to Sharingan himself A's Raiton Armor.

Obviously they underestimated Naruto's idiocy. I mean, who the hell runs towards the guy trying to capture you so he can take over the world?

In Naruto's defense, Madara has some nice Sasuke flavored bait.

But yeah, I think it is this whole Chosen One fact getting to Naruto. He is being told that he can save the world and thus acts without thinking. Cause it's destiny Motha F*cka!
