I'm going to assume that our Tobi is someone who actually met the Uchina brothers in person, and who knew Pein's family -who are not known to us at this point, methinks- well enough to manipulate them in order to get the Rinnegan. If he actually had a way to give the Rinnegan to Pein, then he probably had some relationship with his family and enough time to prep/plan using that to his advantage. I would assume that back when he talked about the Sage of the Six Paths he was actually revealing somewhat his actual origin, although I'm inclined to think he's NOT from the Uchina clan, nor from the Rinnegan clan, but that he actually has no eye techs -he must be from the side of the disciples who got the body of the Sage-. Rather, he accumulated knowledge about power to eventually gather many powerful biological weapons, which he can use because he modified his biological make-up Orochimaru style.
At this point I'm convinced he isn't Madara.
That reminds me (someone may have already mentioned this): what if Tobi is the older son from the Great Sage? That would explain his need to get "senju" cells integrated into his body to use the Rinnigan. That would also explain why he can use the sharingan without it making him go blind in that eye:
My guess is that Tobi is actually Uchiha Shisui.
That hairstyle and..... eye?.... resemblance and all.
But then again, Danzo took one of his eyes and Itachi burned the other, so it probably won't make any sense (unless Shisui was lying about Danzo).
Though I won't be surprised if he does turn out to be Shisui.
about the madara/nagato thing: he thought nagato was the one responsible for his ressurection i guess via his seventh path ability and increased strength in order to get someone that old back the the living world.
only real question is if he's speaking of amegakure nagato or someone else, maybe someone nagato got his namesake from or this has something to do with what tobi said about giving nagato the rin'nigan, maybe he's a clone or something, maybe he's a clone of the original like tobi is OG madara's.

If Kishi chooses Shisui, then he made a plot mistake.
^ That's the thing. He could be talking about Nagato Uzumaki. The only problem with that is we have no explanation as to how Madara Uchiha would know about Nagato Uzumaki, seeing as Madara died long before Nagato was born.
He could also be talking about Nagato X/Uchiha, in which case, he'd be a new character, and Kishi would be throwing us off by making us think Madara was talking about Nagato Uzumaki.

He claims to be doing this all for the Uchiha while hurting the clan every second of his life. If he weren't an Uchiha, he just destroyed a clan and nations for the lulz. Least Aizen was nice enough to let a few people live.

so some stuff finally came forth: there is something about prochimaru and kabuto, i think it has something to do with how they procured the dna or something to do with studying the eyes. there is something about the sharingan developing from the rin'nigan, and naruto's rasenshuriken gets absorbed by a dojutsu, maybe madara's ability.then some huge phucking rock falls from the sky *shrug*

To answer that I'd need to speculate quite a lot, so no perfect conclussion could come from it.
I'd assume it would be a way of extending his abilities, in the way that collecting Uchina eyes helps you to extend your Izanagi abilities. We obviously lack of a fulfilling explanation as of now, maybe different Senju produce different abilities?
Have we got an origin for the black/white guy as of yet?
