A's a ***** with his priorities in order. Unlike Tsunade who's just a *****...though she is more useful technically speaking.

Before the bullshit power creep that took place halfway through Shippuden occured, Temari as of the Sasuke Retrieval arc was one of the strongest ninja in the manga.

Oh! Shikamaru! I was confused for a second. He doesn't really matter though. Tenten had one, Sakura has probably had a couple and Tsunade beat up no armed Orochimaru far better than Jiraiya was. All of them were handicapped. And I'd hesitate to call the Tayuya fight fair as she did have help.

Hidan was also far and away the weakest of Akatsuki. Just like one could make a case that A is the weakest of the Kage. And did he knock Naruto down a peg? Not really. Now that Pain guy, he really did do that. 😛

Define "beats up". A has a record of losing an arm to a main character who honestly didn't bother to learn his name and failing to stop a main character who was holding back the entire time.

Now that I think about it, A is just a lightning version of Sakura. Infinitely faster, though even more useless. vin

This was years before the Juubi was even a concept. This was still when I was in highschool (2002!)

And notice that the Juubi is shaped almost like the Kyuubi..just a single eye? That goes further to support my idea that the Juubi gets most of it's power from the kyuubi.

When Naruto started WTF pwning Nagato. I was like, "FINALLY...the freaking manga this is named after has it's main character kicking ass for real...and it's not some low-level character, it is THE most powerful "living" character."

I do not think you're wrong based on fact:

Kisame said that they had to seal all of the other Bijuu, first, before sealing the Kyuubi or else it would through the balance off on the statue (and cause it to break or something).

And THAT was just a half-powered Kyuubi cause Minato (First Hokage) sealed half of its chakra in the Shinigami, remember?

So we know that AT LEAST the half-powered Kyuubi is equal to all other Bijuu combined.

Full powered means that it is at least twice as strong.

Demonic Phoenix and I were talking about this, earlier: I concluded that this was why Hashirama (the first Hokage) decided to sell/give away the other tailed beasts but keep the Kyuubi: it was still stronger than all other Bijuu combined. So Hashirama could afford to give/sell them all away as long as he kept the Kyuubi. And by "afford" I mean from a strategic military perspective. Selling or giving them all away would not make much strategic sense in the event that 2 or 3 villages ally themselves against Konoha so Hashirama had to have made a nice strategic decision there. He was uber powerful and intelligent...because his clan was the most powerful clan before everyone decided to make villages together.

Anyway, so it all makes sense, in the end...and it shows that Kishi really did write some parts of the manga quite well: all of the "bijuu" stuff makes sense when you look at other parts of the story. No plot holes.

I think in the battle that took place in VotE, Kyuubi disliked Madara and sided with Harashima. Thus, with their combined efforts, Madara was overwhelmed and killed.

Quick little tangent here: How many characters actually know that the Kyuubi sealed inside Naruto is at half power? 😛

I swear when Tobi gets the Kyuubi and discovers this, he'll be so mad.

I'll note that it doesn't necessarily need to be equal to all the others combined to affect balance. Presumably the others are partially counterbalancing each other too, and the whole setup may be delicate.

A weight that's simply the largest of the whole may be able to throw things off, even if it's a third, a fourth, or a fifth.

What happened to the other half of the Kyuubi's power again? Didn't it get sealed in the Death God's belly or something?

Come to think of if, Tayuya has perhaps one of the best track records of the female nin introduced in Naruto, since she was only seconds away from killing a male character by herself.

I'd make a better case for Mei than A personally but whatever. By knocking down a peg, I meant the effect of Naruto's talk no jutsu where he tried to convince A to not have Sasuke killed. Nagato was truly beaten by a book 😛

He almost mamed himself to try an kill Sasuke after putting him on his back. Naruto still needed to be smacked as well for acting like a brat, which was semi working until Bee knocked him down. Though none of that would've happened had Tsunade not just stood there feeling bad for Naruto.
