Well, it was stated that the Captains were the military assets of Soul Society. So at least we know there was no mincing of words. They are significantly stronger than those around them and they are generally "once in a hundred years" type of characters. It almost always requires the use of a bankai to be part of the Gotei 13 with the exception of the 11th squad.

Basically, they are the "super-weapons" of SS.

In order to knock down the Naruto war a little, they had Naruto become the turning point of the whole thing. I mean really, they couldn't have a bit more of a struggle before letting the yellow a-hole jump in.

Ahhhhhh...but you see, the Jinchuriki are literally weapons of mass destruction to the shinobi. One powerful jinchuriki is enough to turn the tide of an entire war. They are literally the weapons of the shinobi.

They are a metaphor for nukes.

So it should not come as a surprise that out of the only two weapons of mass destruction left, one of them is changing the tide of a war that was almost stalemated.

So much Naruto hate. XD

Why did you have to bring this up? 🙁

Cause now I'm thinking of this awesome scene and how it was ruined by this scene.

I hate Kubo for that.

Well he is pretty faggy for a main character. Not being homophobic but he pulls the 'LOVE AND PEEEACE!' crap so often and so unironically that its hard to find him that compelling. Even Trigun has the good sense to do it tongue in cheek at the start. And the main character in that was an actual pacifist.

Eh, nothing wrong with wanting everyone to stop killing each other. Besides, he is 16, which is pretty young. I forgive him for being on the nonsensical side, especially when he has a Messiah complex forced on him.

I agree with all of this. Also wasnt there like a point somewhere where kakashi says that he's going to go on a rampage with all his learned jutsu through the years....and he ends up doing it off panel? that got to me.
our only hope is anime filler 🙁

Well he could've chose not to listen to an old talking frog, considering two people died cause he guessed wrong; three if we count Minato.

I mostly antagonize Naruto because he took away an awesome attack from Muu and turned it into....something lame. Then there's his poses whenever he does something....😐

Naruto is cooler than Muu though. 313

Muu died killing the 2nd Mizukage. That automatically makes him cooler than Naruto.

KaMuuto on the other hand🙁

Naruto beat Gaara, who beat the 2nd Mizukage. 313

Gaara used the elderly to bail him out of a bind...again 😄

Though that was a cool momment for Naruto at the time.

The problem is Kubo idiotically declared a Vasto Lord should "exceed captain level", even before becoming an arrancar. Therefore, when it actually came time for an arrancar-ed VL (who, by that idea, should top captains left and right) to fight... he was left in a pickle. And ended up proving that statement wrong by having the VL fail badly even against a single captain.

Unlike most of the crap PIS that Kubo writes, that particular aspect is easy to rationalize: it was only an a myth about the Vasto Lorde, not a fact. The myth proved mostly true.

Who can really beat Barigan in a straight up fight? Anyone? I don't think so. No one can. What about Haribel? Nope...no one. What about Starrk? Probably only gay-flower cape captain can...cause he did. What about Ulq? His second release pretty much made him the strongest quatro, by far...so he's easily not defeatable. So, basically, the quatro, which are confirmed vasto lorde, are all above pretty much all captains. I'd say that Yamamoto would be able to defeat Harribel, but not Barigan. Maybe Starrk, too...but definitly not Ulq or Baringan.

Yea, all the Vasto Lordes we know were taken down by more than one Captain. So it's true... but there's only 3 of them, and while stronger they weren't unstoppably so, so nor did it really change the big picture when the Arrancar were outnumbered to begin with.

In the Naruto war, you have your really big guns (Tobi, Madara, the very best zombies), then you have a fair number of big/medium-but-useful guns to back them up (the other zombies), then you have the zetsu just to tie people up and keep those assets from being swarmed too badly. Much more sensible, when your enemy has larger numbers of true combatants on their side.

However the strongest of the captains were still clearly holding back for some reason.

Also, Haribel did get pretty solidly beaten by Hitsugaya. This was actually due to element rock paper scissors though.

The best Vasto Lord fight was Barragan's. For obvious reasons.

How did this end up as a Bleach thread? lol

Contrasting the two 🙂

Note that she wasn't actually injured by the technique despite being trapped by it. Her skin was still too tough to hurt. So while it was a 'win,' it was only a win by trapping her rather than hurting her.

Compared to Luppi, who was badly injured by a similar but lesser move.

A win is a win. The SA are winning their fights in the same way Hitsugaya did. Trapping their opponents. awesome
