Ah, kay. Was Jack Rakan a manly man though?

I did not get that far.

Additionally...I just found out that probably the best thing about Negima was killed off. 😐

Not like I was going to read anymore of Negima, though.

He was supposed to be a mixture of Jiraiya and Kenpachi, from what I read. How is that not a broken/awesome character?

Stfu.

Teach you to measure remembering powers with me. *puts dick away very slowly*

I forget.

I swear, we need the trollface on tap so I can just use that for my csm-esque reply.

........ Come on man, why do that?

Why tell me that when I am just now starting out the series?

Seriously, why? 😐

And I have heard him described as the diet coke version of Sol Badguy myself.

That's gay.

Nah.

🙂

^ See that up there? ^

I have found it to induce more constipated fury in members than any mere trollface. Just the arrogance of it all.

... Q99, sorry for taking this thread off-topic again, I'll stop now. 😐

Jack Rakan is absurdly manly.

K. Messy in all aspects you can think of.

The stories are messy (unlike some shounen manga, the stories from chapter to chapter really DO seem like they were thought of just the week prior), the art is messy, the backgrounds are sometimes messy, the character development is slow as ****/generic/messy, bla bla bla. It was very generic and messy. Just not really my cup of tea.

?

There is a lot of foreshadowing and obvious planning. There are characters and hints dropped very early on that pay off big time later. Every last member of the class has a backstory that was definitely thought out ahead of time, though maybe tweeked a little. There's a lot of chapters spent on character development, and some members of the class change a lot. Maybe not early on, but once the thing hits it's stride.

Also, on the character development and genericness-

Spoiler:
The shounen hero turns to the powers of darkness in order to try and catch up with the enemy faster, and discovers that planning, forethought, and lateral thinking beat guts and going at problems head first.

Also, bookish shy girl turns the tide of battle against a class-A major badass foe by suddenly gaining three levels in badass and saves the day pretty much on her own.

Find that in another shounen fight series 🙂

My guess is you simply didn't get far enough for much of the payoff.

One thing I will say about it is- most chapters really are chapters.

That is to say, the majority of chapters are designed to be read as discrete units, with some exceptions. It's not like many series where really, pick up a random chapter and you're just in the middle of a fight and is really designed to be read in the collected volume (Which OP, Bleach, etc. often do). Thus, it is very busy. There's many panels per chapters (way more than normal) and more stuff happening.

I think Naruto is very well written.

Yea, I personally feel it doesn't get enough credit in the writing department.

Part of it is Kishimoto is willing to experment. Some stuff works, some stuff doesn't, but it means he takes the stories in different places and has less standard pacing than normal, all of which takes skill.

Negima chapters are only three or four pages longer than normal based on what I have seen so far.

Nothing compared to the 40-50 page chapters of FMA.

Edit: Answer my PM you insolent fewl.

You got impatient for a reply *fast* 😄

I was feeling ignored and unlove. D:

So it's okay for you guys to talk Negima but I so much as mention One Piece and it's "STFU you Bastard!"

Blax was right. >_>

No, no it's really not, and I shall apologize for doing so!

Too late, the damage has been done. 🙁

But, he was. And yes it failed, along with most of his plans. The only successes he had were TBtP arc and recovering the Hogyoku. 😛

Look at his war strategy: The Zetsu imitate the SA forces. In order to stop them, they need to use Naruto. If they use Naruto, he is out in the open for Tobi to capture him. If they don't use him, the Zetsu will destroy the Alliance and they'll catch 'em anyway.

Cutest villain ever.

Still had to train most likely. 😛 You forgot his plan for Yamamoto, the only dude capable of beating him in combat despite his brokenness. Pretty sure he also had a plan for Ichigo that succeeded at first.

More of a Batman gambit. His plan to capture them hinged on Naruto gaining the same power that Mito had. And it can still fail. 😛

Mehbeh. Orihime would make a cuter villain. mmm

Not nearly as long as the others. His plan for Yamamoto which hinged on Wonderweiss...who was the backup. Meaning if Yamamoto hadn't been a lazy ass, he could have torched all of the Espada fairly easily.

Ah, but he knew Naruto had that power via Kisame's intel. And it can still fail in the sense that he is underestimating Naruto. But he seems to be prepared. The only thing he probably didn't plan for was the Bijuu giving Naruto chakra. That can't be planned for.

Hawter. Breasts and stuff. But Rukia seems more cute.

No. >_>

Never!

It shall be countered with talk of Biju!

Like, is it just me, or does the Naruto/Kurama pair seem stronger than Tobi and Madara? I mean, momentarily stronger, he does have a time limit and they don't, but his raw power output seems greater (as befitting someone from the Senju/Uzumaki side).

Yeah, raw power is better. Tobi and Madara have the Rinnegan advantages. Which are hax.

But doesn't the Rinnegan also grant the user an abundance of raw power with stuff like Shinra Tensei and summoning Gedo Mazo.

Er....I tried looking at Negima yesterday and gave up after the first 3 chapters 🙁. Seriously why are those chicks trying to bang a friggin 9 year old? I mean I don't even know who this Jack Rakan guy is but why I don't see him surrounded by chicks....granted I didn't read that far to begin with.

Yea, they have high raw power too, but Naruto seems to have more.

Conversely they do have more versatility and hax, though. Absorption, sharingan powers, etc. etc..

Seriously why are those chicks trying to bang a friggin 9 year old?

Mostly? As he is ten, they treat him more like a toy than an actual subject of romantic interest, i.e. they're joking around. And it's only a few years apart.

Aura I don't give a shit if you talk about One Piece, that was Q99. estahuh

Wakka, this is Jack Rakan:

THAT IS WHAT I AM LOOKING SO FORWARD TO.

And yeah, Q99, at the moment Naruto seems to have the most raw power output.

Edit: Well Q99, one of the chicks is explicitly referred to as a Shotacon. So... Yeh.

Actually iirc a few of them are serious and try to confess to him.

This is one if the worst things about the Karakura town arc. The sheer amount of ****ing around that happens in that fight is ridiculous. How are we supposed to take the fights seriously when everyone is holding back? Ukitake was almost the worst, playing around with that girl when he should have just knocked her out instantly, or if he has such a problem fighting a little girl, switched opponents. She was no threat to him at all and he's a freaking Captain. Kyoraku and Stark were fricking dancing most of their fight. No drama or tension at all. Its like an entire town of people wasn't about to be massacred and they were just having a tea-party.

And of course Yama's the worst. What the hell was he even doing during all those long-ass fights? Taking a nap. Man that arc sucked balls.

Has anyone in Naruto ever been seriously holding back in a situation like that?

I don't think so. Some handicaps, but the only time you see much holding back is playing with a weaker foe.

Ok, yes, Ayaka is called out on being a shotacon by Asuna 🙂 Though the reality of the situation is a bit different.

Nephthys
Actually iirc a few of them are serious and try to confess to him.

In the young-and-fairly-innocent romance sense, not actually trying to jump his bones.

I dunno Q.

I get the feeling that were I Negi, would be punching vulvas all day out of FURIOUS nine year old boy FURY.

Then I would kill myself for being Negi.

Have you gotten to Setsuna yet?

Setsuna is awesome.
