Inglourious Basterds

Started by FistOfThe North16 pages

so i finally finished the second half of inglorious bastards. the movie was ok, i've seen better Q.T. films. Here's why i liked it:

- great setting, very convincing 1940's era atmosphere.
- the musical themes were just great.
- some of the sudden violence was as good as the suspense leading up to the spontanious event. even though some of the suspense was built up to no end.

Here's why i disliked it.

- too long.
- it's very slow pace caused boredom
- same old q.t. revenge plot to the extreme
- Brad Pitt just seemed outta place in this movie to me for some reason. and he wasn't really convincing.
- Eli Roth, wft?
- they didn't have to off what's her face. that got me mad. she got robbed of seeing her sh*t happen.

And that Hans Landa character is extremely overated, to me. All he is, is a charismatic detective. i've seen more charismatic and smarter bad guys that this.

He won't make my top 20 lists of bad guys of '09.

oh it gets a 6/10 in my book.

I disagree with most of what you said. Especially your Hans Landa comments. He won't make your list of top 20 villains of 2009? Really? Come on.

Eli Roth was awesome in it.

It's alright. His favourite actor is Tom Cruise.

You could be right, you could be wrong, either way I don't see the problem with this. I enjoyed it.

Again:

This movie was f*cking BORING.

The testicle shootout was fun, I admit, but the 30 minute diatribe preceding it was BORING.

BORING.

GOD DAMN THIS MOVIE WAS BORING!!!!!!

F*ck you, Tarantino. You need to go back to your roots.

EXACTLY, why all the chit chat?

Like the opening scene with the milk, WTF? Drink it and kill the Jews, STFU and just do it.

HATED this movie, it literally put me to sleep.

Yeah, screw suspense, tension, character development. I'd rather watch a short, formulaic conversation play out with completely expected results. Plus, it's not like Tarantino's ever written talky, lengthy dialogue in the past, he really should go back to his roots -- oh wait...

this movie didnt have any character development. what are you talking about? lol.

It did with Hans Landa and Shosanna.

what character development did either of them show throughout the movie?

Seen it for the third time and I have come to the conclusion that IB have the most saddest scenes in ALL of Tarantino's films. I'm speaking of course of the
Spoiler:
Shoshana death scene.

If the opening scene makes you sad...then this ones makes your eyes watering...my goodness! Only three films have made me cry.

Schindlers list, Amistad, and....I can't remember too sad. 🙁

Made me cry too.

When I realized I had paid 20 bucks for a steaming pile of shit.

K that's all I gotta say.

Dialogue is very important in a movie. It is crucial, in fact.

However, a 15 minute scene of people with cards on their foreheads talking about King Kong is just boring.

Landa had no character development. None.

Shoshanna just got revenge, is all. And shot.

lol

I couldn't have said it, sarcastically, better. 👆

And, lol @ Ms. Marvel saying it had no character development. hahaha. That couldn't be more untrue. You wouldn't know character development if it bit you in the butt. I think you just hate on movies just to hate and be a rebel. Rawr.

I love it. Was very pleased.

Wish there were more Nazi scalpings, but still love the movie regardless

Character development was severely lacking. If you disagree ; go f*ck yourself.

*F***s Yourself*

If it means anything, Death Proof was far more boring.
