"Very well," says Melitus. "However, I fail to see your justification. Every single part of your life that led to you choosing the red pill, was deception..."

I take it it was luck we chose the red one.

So you do not believe it had validity as a choice in of itself- it was just (as Melitus said earlier) coincidence that you made the right choice- assuming you believe red was the right choice, of course!

"deception, maybe..but i still chose the pill because of my personal feelings..curiosity"

"Your personal feelings and your curiosity were both equally based on deception," says Melitus. "Any thought process involved was arrived upon a set of criteria that was based on deception. Any and all information that led you to make that choice was deception."

"aaa..but the person offering me the pill informs me about the deception, somewhat. So my decision is based on what he informs me, assuming he doesn';t give me a false information"

(awh..it's late..my logic is sleepy right now..i assume)

"No-one can be told what the Matrix is... you have to see it for yourself..." says Melitus. "When you rescue people, you know that all too well. To a 'coppertop', you are PART of the deception. The information you give them is no more reliable than anything else in the Matrix. It so happens to be true- but that, for them, is only by coincidence."

"That is why some people do take to kindly to you after being freed," Heph adds.

"They tell you what the Matrix is, but only the small details. I'd know, I was freed little over a year ago. Then Captain Marduk showed me the fields..." He shakes his head.

"If we are still talking about choices made in the Matrix, I think they are real choices based upon things that the mind recevies, whether it is by living eyes or a computer."

*sighs*

"very well, so the choice is invalid. But at least, after the extraction is over, i have the worm feeling of the deception not coming from the machines, in this case, but from the rebels, wich aren't controlled directly. Even though i don't know it at the point..."

We've kind of missed a huge chunk for you there, Heph, is the problem. However, are you saying that the Matrix is not a lie? That is the foundation of what we were getting at. So far only Azrael is comfortable saying that but now Rade is slipping in that direction...

Well...

*sits back down and pretends to be sleeping*

"I will not deny that this deception served you very well. So, in the final analysis, you admit your decision to take the red pill- to leave the Matrix- was not actually a valid choice?"

"I don't believe it was valid. While it was a choice, it was because they were only telling us that it was the right thing. It was more curiosity than decision, according to me."

"yes, thought you have the sickest habir of twisting the words in your favor, melitus" says Rade a bit irritated

"He is a Machine after all," Heph says, putting a hand on Rade's shoulder. "Plus, I'm supposed to be the one getting irritated..."

"Why do you assume that is in my favour?" asks Melitus.

Ok, errr, let me try and get a grip on where we are with you, Heph... you seem unbsure as to whether the Matrix is a lie or not, but you do think that your decision to take the red pill was invalid?

''well, you're trying to get somewhere, aren't you?"

indeed ush

"I am simply trying to determine a set of views to aid you understand what you want to know," says Melitus. "if you think it makes me happy that you believe that the Matrix is lies and hence your decision to leave it was not valid, you are mistaken."

I shall wait a little longer to see if Castor comments on Red/Blue.

"well, if not that, then what?"
