I'm sure you have to spec for it (obviously)... but I've seen it crit higher than 3k... it happens because its like a 4 second cast or so.. (above 3k you'd prolly need the assistance of +spell crit and a definate tier 2)
and odd that you say that cuz my level 58 warlock friend got a 2.2k crit with it the other day... but I think thats the norm.. but destruction tree helps alot with all the +crit and +damage added to crits done by destruction abilities
still.. you probably dont even need shadowbolt either lol... by the time they come back to you from being feared the DoTs you slapped on him should have done almost 1k by themselves... plus if you got conflagrate... well.. yummy 😊
hmm ime more a demonology, i miss high crits, but i swear it is only possible to get 3k+ with tier 2 or 3 and some powerful +dmg and crit gear, as a lvl 60 Destruction warlock i hit 2k at time i think, so i guess its about right
ime a Demonology lock now though, near invulnerability, its VW shield combo can defeat almost anyone, i beat an Epic equiped hunter lvl 60 when i was lvl 58 with my Demonology, and considering i was hitting 500 with Shadow bolt i was at a great disadvantage to his 1k every time he fires, especially with my small 2k health, i have 3k now but i am still weak, no tier sets at all, apart from a few tier 0.5 dungeon set, but you can only get tier 1 with a good MC raid group, which is very hard on my Hellscream server, and to get tier 2 is near impossible, only a few of the best guilds in the server can hope to get it and i doubt ill ever be allowed into them 🙁
no realm has completed nax therefore only a few have a few T3 bits 5 at most.
On locks, if you no how to play a dps clsss as powerfull as locks well enough you'd be killing your average joe 60 at 45+, having said that it's a tricky class to play.
Also if you have any idea about locks and since your not raiding you'd be at least partly in the Destruction tree, looking for ruin; incerease crit chance of destruction spells by 100%, also since your no raiding no one needs your demo atributes so i suggest you change.

Demon is better for PVP IMO, being hard to kill as well as putting DPS on everyone in the area is pretty cool, especially with VW shield and then instant summon
the reason i cannot get into guilds is because i dont have much good gear, and only about 50 max FR 😮 but i cant play at the moment so i cant get any, good FR gear 🙁 .....Dest was good when i had it and changing to Demo was hard but now i play good with it and beat most people in Duels and when i go into PVP i am not easy to beat against the average players

i see ur point, me personnally i never like demo as i hate the idea of relying on a pet to crank out DPS tho im sure thats not the case im still in that stigma.
Also the instant cast isnt bad but for BC unstable affliction looks pretty gud + felgaurd= sirpwnalot.
My lock, 60 most T1 half T2. Undead on mealstrom the sad thing which i am now regreting is i deleted him in favor of my now awsome pally on jui bei thos.
cool...cant get any tier gear without a guild, and ime not on enough to farm fire res gear for the moment, perhaps ill start getting some soon and then join a guild that can get tier 1 and 2, ime on hellscream, quite a small server without much in the way of high end guild compared to some, i may change to another one after ive got some gear for MC

i doubt it, hard to imagine spellcasters being able ot use magic properly with armour on, and also balance issues should be taken into account, an adept caster with the defence of a warrior is quite hard to beat
but it could be possible that one of the new classes such as Drenai could wear armour since the male Drenai are quite heavily built

i can go no further without know which are you.
But for me, ret has always been a fast way to lvl after 55 i always go holy or protection based on what my role in the raids/ pvp teams will be.
