This wasn't getting her anywhere. Maik turned back to the nurse. "Do you know who I am?"
With any luck, she could scare the nurse into doing what she wanted. Considering Maik's reputation with medical personel, it shouldn't be too hard.

only if you PROMISE to go back and read what has happened. From the beginning. Otherwise none of this will make sense.

The nurse nodded. "Of course I do, Ma'am."

Maik smiled in her disconcerting way. "Good. Now be so kind as to explain what you're doing with that needle?"

"She's out of control. She needs a sedative before she attackls someone else other than her brother."

Maik glared at Sonia "Why did you attack your brother?"
This was such a mess.

"I. . .I, uh, I don't even remember." Sonia said holding her head. It hurt so much. She felt like her skull was cracking.

Descartes shook his head. "She started having a fit when the nightmare hit her. It was unintentional."

Suddenly Maik was getting the urge to run to the nearest pub. "What a mess." She grumbled. "So what are we going to do about this nightmare problem?" She asked the Huberts.

"A dreamless draught potion?" Sonia suggested.

Maik thought that over. It seemed like a good idea. Afterall, the last thing she wanted was for Sonia to see the deatheater's memory of murdering Alex.
"That should work." Maik said to Sonia

Descartes nodded. "It'll take a while. Two weeks."

"That long?" Maik said, raising an eyebrow. "What will you do in the mean time?"

"Tie her to the bed." He teased before sighing. "I'm not sure, but we'll figure it out. You need your vacation."

"Yeah, You're right." Maik sighed. "Are you sure you're allright?" she asked Sonia

Sonia nodded. "I'll be fine."

Maik shrugged."If you say so."
She turned to Descartes and adjusted her bag on her shoulder. "Shall we go then?"

two days had passed since Max and Caroline first arrived at hogwarts, and there was still no sign of the Corruptor. When Max was not searching for the deatheater, Tyrone or Ada was. As for Caroline, she just roamed around the school, thinking about what happened two days ago. She remembered the piece of parchment that Max had. She didn't get to look at it, because Max had gotten there before she could read anything.
The only words she could get out of it before Max took it back was death and the Corruptor . And the parchment, she remembered, was put out like a letter. Could it have possibly been a death threat? Was Max hiding it so she wouldn't start to worry? What did Max do to make the Corruptor come after him?
Whatever he did that he wasn't telling her, it was really starting to bug her. And she was going to find out these questions once and for all.

Max sat in the guestroom that night, holding the piece of parchment in his hand. He reread the letter, and stared at it, feeling fear rising in him. it said:

Dear Max,
I know your secret. You were never really good at hiding secrets from me. How long are you going to keep it up? No secret can be kept forever, you know. Someday, you'll crack and tell everyone your secret. you know, your 'special' gift. And I'll be there to see your confession. I see that you're hanging around that Caroline Carnavon girl. You better not show your feelings for her, if you want to keep her alive. Because everyone you care about are on my hit list. By the way, don't think that was the last you saw of Leonard Benedict. he'll be back. And when he does return, your death will be our victory. for you can't hide forever.

You better watch your back boy,
The Corruptor

Just great. Max thought. Just what I need. More threats. Max looked at the time. It was 10:00 pm. Better start looking for Caroline. he thought. he headed out of the room and to the Great Hall. no one was there. Probably at their dormitories. He decided to take a walk outside. Maybe he'd find Caroline out there. He walked outside and suddenly heard something. it sounded like footsteps Max headed to where the sound was coming. something was telling him that something was wrong. he walked over, cautiously. when he reached the area, he suddenly recieved a massive blow to the stomach. Max flew backwards and hit the ground. a man dressed in completely black with a mask over his face slowly walked up to him.
"Corruptor!" Max gasped, trying to catch his breath. the Corruptor knelt down beside Max giving a small cackle.
"You know, If you were a normal man, that might've killed you. For my strength is above average." The Corruptor said. "But that's the thing. Neither of us are normal, are we?"
"You're a nut, you know that." Max muttered.
"Well you and I aren't that different in that aspect, are we? I'm pretty much the evil version of you." The Corruptor said.
"We're nothing alike!" Max shouted out in anger.
"Whoa, that's quite a temper you have." Corruptor said.
"Max!" shouted a familiar voice. Max looked over to see Caroline running over. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm..." Max looked around. the Corruptor was gone! "...fine."
Where did he go? Max thought.
"Thank goodness!" Caroline said. "I was looking all over for you! You were starting to worry me."
"Well..." Max said getting up. "No need to worry. Come on. let's head back to the room."
I have a feeling that's not the last time I will see the Corruptor. Max thought.

Descartes nodded to Maik as he led her towards the cabby they were going to take.

Maik jumped in the cab and scooted over, making room for Descartes. "How long will it take to get to your house?"

"Not long. Just relax and before you know it, we'll be there."
