The Yule Ball

"Far too much." Maik agreed. "But then, she has you and her parents to help."
She smiled mischieviously. "And Elrohir."

"Oh yes, I will have to talk to your brother." Descartes joked.

Maik laughed at that. Elrohir would blush beyond reckoning.

Descartes smiled. "Yeah."

Maik shuffled her feet and looked around, suddenly feeling awkward. "So..I guess that's it then."

"Cool, I'll be checking in if you need anything, and oh yeah." he walked over to the fireplace. Taking a jar down he opened it. "It's not floo powder, but if you need anything just toss a handful into the fire and say someone's name. They'll instantly be able to talk to you through anything reflective or has a fire."

"That's convenient." Mai said, inspecting the jar. "Thanks."

Descartes smiled.

Maik placed the jar back on the manlte piece and gave Descartes a smile back.

Elrohir quickly read over the note Maik had left him as he walked back to St. Mungo's. He made a mental note to make sure Aslan was still alive when he went home.

By this time the part of St. Mungo's that Sonia was in had caught on fire. She ran out into the street from the nurses and doctors. They had notified the ministry. She had to leave.

Seeing the flames, Elrohir broke into a run. He grabbed a doctor and demanded an explanation as he franticly searched for Sonia.

The doctor just stuttered smething about a shot. A nurse pointed towards a girl running away. She was about Sonia's size.

Elrohir thanked the nurse quickly and bolted after the girl.

Sonia dove into an alleyway. She took out her wand and began chanting.

Elrohir stopped, panting for breath. The girl had dodged out of sight somewhere.He strained for any sound, and cought a voice coming from an allyway. Elrohir stepped into the alleyway and saw Sonia doing some sort of charm. "Sonia! What are you doing?! What happened?"

A portal opened. "I'm going home." she says. Her wand hand bleeding.

"Sonia, wait, please." Elrohir pleaded holding his hand out to her. "What happened?"

Sonia looked at him. "You said everything would be okay. You lied. They tried to knock me out until the ministry got there."

"I never lie." Elrohir defended himself. "I really did think everything would be allright. What does the ministry want with you?"

Sonia shook her head. "No, forget it. I'll just hide out at home." she says.
