Aslan smlied. "Just think of it as a favor." He looked up at the clock on the mantle and wrinkled his nose slightly. "I'll start tommorrow morning I guess."

"Thank you, Aslan." Sonia says standing. She dusted of her robes and smiled.

"My pleasure." Aslan said, half bowing. "A pleasant evening to you all, since I'm sure you four have more important things to do than stand around here talking to me."

SOnia rolled her eyes. "Mr. Kent. . .Aslan, don't do that. You know perfectly well we have nothing better to do than to chat with you."

"I'd beg to differ."

Sonia shot Descartes an icy cold glare.

"What? What? I think Dad really did do it."

Maik's eyes widened slightly in surprise and she looked up at Descartes. "You do?"
Elrohir just stared at the fire and didn't say anything

"Then your heart is made out of ice." Sonia spat at Descartes.

Descartes sneered. "At least that's better than a head made of stone."

Sonia was seething. Turning her back to her brother, she faced the fireplace.

Maik frowned slightly. "The two of you fighting won't solve anything. Aslan will figure out who's behind this. In the mean time, try to be at least civil to each other."

Descartes sighed. "You're right, Maik. I shouldn't be so hard headed. I know my sister's heart is good and she's just trying do the right thing. Forgive me, Sonia?"

Sonia turned to face her brother. "Yeah."

"That's better." Maik said, smiling slightly.
"You got Maik smiling at least." Aslan commented from his perch on the top of Maik's favorite chair. He had turned back into a cat at the first sign of an argument between Sonia and Descartes.
"Get off my chair." Maik told him sourly

Sonia smiled. "True, Mr. Kent." She says before taking a few more deep breaths.

Aslan bowed, then fell off the top of the chair as Maik shoved him.
"We'll be on our way then, Aslan." Maik said, smiling smugly. "Unless Sonia still needs to talk to you, then she can just stay here with Elrohir."

Sonia turned and blushed at Maik. What Maik said sounded so much as a hint to somethig. "Um, no, I don't think I do. Maybe wish Mr. Kent luck."

"Wish away." Aslan said from the floor. "Though I'm sure I won't need it."
