Elrohir glaced quickly between the two siblings, hoping this wouldn't turn nasty. He didn't need to look at Maik, he knew what she thought of Darius' integrity.
"If your father didn't send it, who did?" Maik asked

"I'm not sure, but I know when my father lies. He's not lying."

"Then we have to find the one responsible." Elrohir said. "Before your father's trial."

Sonia sighed. "I know." She bit her lip as she thought. "Maybe if we had Thornton's response to those letters.

Maik scratched her chin thoughtfully. "I'm sure I can persuade Thornton to give those up."

"No." Sonia says. "We need to do it without the ministry's involvement."

"Why?" Maik asked

Sonia shook her head. "I can't explain."

Maik frowned slightly. "Dare I ask why? Or can't you explain that either?"
Elrohir nervously chewed his lip as he glanced at Sonia. She probably had a good reason for this, but Maik it seemed was not in the most charitable of moods.

"Ms. Maik, please." Sonia says biting her lip as well. She couldn't explain. "I know you're angry, upset maybe. It would just be easier if the ministry was not involved."

Descartes cocked his head to the side. "I'm lost, Son(Sôn). What are you saying?"

Maik shook her head slightly. She hated not knowing what was going on, but at least she wasn't the only one in the dark.
"I"m afraid I don't understand either." Elrohir added.

SOnia sighed. "Forget it. Nervermind." she whispers looking away.

"Sonia wait." Elrohir said softly. "We want to help you, but if you don't want the ministry involved, then we can't." He thought for a moment. "Though I think there is someone who can."

Sonia looked at Elrohir. "Who?" she asks eyes now sparkling as she watched his face for any signs of hope.

"Aslan." Elrohir replied. "He doesn't work for the ministry."

"But would he want to help? I mean We don't want to pressure him into anything." Sonia says.

"Of course he would." Maik spoke up. "He loves helping people." She shot a glance at Elrohir."Even when they insist on climbing over people's walls."

Sonia blushed softly. "It was kind of romantic and very sweet."

Elrohir smiled sheepishly. "Thanks."

Sonia laughed softly. "Just being honest."
