I'm not sure what's going on here, but I'm a Biology Student and for me it's totally clear that evolution happend. There is simply no other way for life to evolve. I've seen a lot of questions asked (fossils, the Grand Canyon, oxygen, the first cell, The mitochondrial Eve => actually it were about 7 mitochndrial Eves out of Africa) and about 90 percent of them I could answer pretty easy. Why don't all these people get informed first and then start to ask questions?!
The Evolution Theory is a theory!! It is a pretty good theory because it explaines nearly everything but there are gaps due to never found fossils and missing knowledge. For example you can say that in Europe and the US a great deal of the existing fossils have been dug up but not in Asia, Africa or Australia.
I think it's crap to ban evolution from being taught in school. It's science and not a religion! The evolution theory does not have to compete with any Religion cause it's a completly different thing!
These people accept modern medicin but not science. Thats a nice paradox!

Yaaaay we got another person with a head up there! clapping

no no no no NO.

wtf does saddam hussein have to do with this?

Good, we need more intelligent people in here ✅ 😊

Good, we need more intelligent people in here
one can only hope 😉

I digress nothing that you would believe. Your own perceptions you must deal with. Besides, intelligence is all perceived.

I do agree that the study of evolution should have no reason to be banned. Religion isn't banned and for pete's sake, don't ban science.

So what about the meaning of life as if it could tie in with evolution and God?

Do you think we are all formed to become the image of God through evolution?

Previously from Roscoe,

I believe what happend here is that some religions take the bible word for word and see it too concretely. An open mind is needed. That is what PVS and I were discussing.. but thanks for including us. Sorry about before.

Religions compete with Evolution because the teachings of some religions don't allow an open mind. Therefore, if most of the school is of a certain religion who don't want to believe in what may have happened, it would be voted to remove the science class in that school.

We have Religious freedom and scientific freedom, but the majority rule in making laws and how they interpret and view the laws are all depending on what the mind will allow.

Bruce Lee - Allowed his mind to form a new type of martial arts by unifying a grande theory because it would be more efficient and necessary to deal with all possiblities.

George Lucas - Formed a Saga that shows all races, philosophies, & religions, and world mythology into one story.

Thankyou, Arachnoid Freak... ok, my knowledge is rather wobbly, but still, I know that different species have different numbers of chromosomes... so how (out of genuine curiosity) do new species, with different numbers of chromosomes, originate?

I just got Fable, so I haven't been able to answer(damn that game is good).

Anyway, the first changes happened through a mutation caused by radiation. Whether it be cosmic rays bambarding the planet, natural terrestrial radiation, or some other sort. Then from those mutations(which still occur naturally today), the creature and it's DNA adapts to it's enviroment.

Then YOU obviously haven't been around long...maybe he hasn't insulted you or any other Kerry supporters and Bush haters, because your on the same side...However I'm pretty sure he's pissed off every single person here that is for Bush...He's been an jerk to me...

"Kingcoot, I've never seen PVS intentionally anger or piss off anyone. But then again, you've not been around too long..."

and as for those saying that the Bible vs evolution is off topic...its not, because some were discussing how they were the same, etc...they have a LOT to do with eachother and I believe that that subject CAN come up...

still whining?
got an issue?
here's a tissue...

Alright guys, stay on topic and calm down, theres a thread to discuss Bush/Kerry.

Is there one for discussing PVS?

No, use PM's for that kinda stuff.

What sounds more whiny? What I stated:

"Then YOU obviously haven't been around long...maybe he hasn't insulted you or any other Kerry supporters and Bush haters, because your on the same side...However I'm pretty sure he's pissed off every single person here that is for Bush...He's been an jerk to me..."

or:

"no no no no NO.

wtf does saddam hussein have to do with this?"

Think: A crying baby saying this...

coughcoughEvolutionthreadcoughcough

Again, this is not a thread to air your personal problems with eachother in, this is purely for the duscussion of evolution. Again, if you guys want to continue this babble, use the PM system.

SO, EVOLUTION!!! I think most people have stated their opinon on this subject...I think it was dying anyway.

That doesn't mean you and PVS can turn the thread into your own little battleground.

There are still people who use this thread for it's original and correct purpose, so it's still very much alive.

actually it was getting kind of interesting when we discussed the evolution of religion, and how it may serve as evidence the religion can adapt to science...but oh well

Why do people always bring up religion when discussing science or science when discussing religion? You can't proove or disproove religion or supernatural events with science just like you can't proove or disproove evolution with religious philosophies. Just leave them as two seperate issues.

Not when some people think that they both are true...And because they both have to do with the beginning of time. I agree on what you said though.
