him?

yeah Him, that's how God is portrayed in the Bible. no, i cannot PROVE that divine intervention occured, but since many people who believe in God are abandoning science and evolution theories and saying it didn't happen, and now this can possibly re-inforce the ways of evolution in connection to the Church. 😱

JDMissPinkie> But why give us free will, if we – God’s supposed children – are unable to use it responsible? Would you let your child play with matches before you knew it was aware of the dangers? We do not give our children “free will” until we know they’re mature enough.
And if they go against us we certainly don’t toss them out of the house and curse them…

However - I think what Ush was hinting at is, that this is supposed to be a thread about evolution and creationism...
Speaking of that - I am, for the second months now, waiting for the Force to honour his promise and show me proof of Creationism...

Makes you think, hm? 😉

shoot girl you got to remind me of this send me a pm or soemthing, i'm still trying to find those book, but c'mon i'm not only online to debate with you, so i'd be happy if you sent me a pm instead of calling me out in public, just like a reminder or something, not to mention i thought i explained to you about the Philosophical thing about me.

yeah Him, that's how God is portrayed in the Bible.
guess the authors never heard of women lib huh?

god is described as an omnipresent and omnipotent being even though his so called incarnation was male (Jesus for those who missed out on the latter). It seems like other mythology was a little more tolerant towards the gender of the gods , at least the had a lot of female gods.

Well, God being evil is certainly interesting and possible. Considering how spiteful he supposedly is towards people who don't believe in him, it's a valid point. He's either evil, or has a huge inferiority complex.

I would call that "highly convinient" actually

So yes, I have been reading this forum quite closely. I will divide up my responses with paragraphs, with the subject at the beginning for those of you who are too lazy to read it all.

GEORGIA BANNING EDUCATION: Georgia's reasons for banning the teaching of evolution is flawed, because if they do in fact take the Bible literally then they'll have to admit to certain things that don't quirte make sense. If they do take the whole bible seriously, then as the bible states Jonah was swallowed by a "big fish", then goes on to describe the whale, then you must really think about the problem that whales aren't fish at all. If you take the bible too literally, then you do come up with flaws. But, I am not saying that there is no such thing as God.

TO HELL WITH THE CHURCHIES: I cannot believe you said that, you ignorat fool. I hope you die a tragic death, and burn in an eternity without God there to pity you. If you have read Darwin, which I doubt you haven't because you aren't educated about his beliefs at all, you would find that Darwin credits evolution to the creator, meaning God. Now, how can you say to hell with the churchies, then side with Darwin when Darwin him was a "churchie." Before you respond, read Darwin. I have, so I know.

COMPLEXION TO ORGANISMS COULDN'T HAVE BEEN CREATED BY GOD: As Darwin states, God set up the naturals laws to govern the earth, thus allowing evolution. With Adam and Eve, it says they were the first HUMANS on earth, not the first things on earth completly. Who is to say that HUMAN-LIKE beings didn't exist before? You cannot present that arguement, because the bible and Darwin go hand in hand.

DARWIN GAVE UP HIS OWN THEORIES LATER IN LIFE: Darwin RECREATED his theories, not abandoning them. There is a difference.

SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE: YOu have to realize that this is set up to protect people from having a religion imposed on them, on taken away from them. This law simply states that you cannot PREACH something to change people's mind, but you can EDUCATE them. There is a difference between a teacher reading the bible out loud to the class, and a teacher talking about Christianity beliefs with the class.

PS. For anyone who has ACTUALLY READ DARWIN, please send me a message. For those of you who haven't, I suggest you do before you respond. Not only are you a waste of time to argue with because you don't know the facts, but you are putting complex migraines on those who educated themselves about it. If you insist to piss and moan, do so to your shrink.

Yes. Third and final post...for now. If you would like to argue more, I've started a thread called: COMMUNISM IS A FLAWED FORM OF GOVERNMENT. Look for it, for it shall be awesome.

AND ALSO, since I missed the free will argument.....TAKING MATCHES AWAY FROM YOUR CHILD IS NOT DESTROYING HIS FREE WILL! Gawd, what a flawed arguement. You take the matches away from the child so that it doesn't get burned, or choke on one...You don't do it because you are trying to be malicious. Good gawd. (also, go the Communism is a flawed form of government. IT's a good thread.)

Jesus phucking christ man... So far, we have done very well by managing to not bash people in a semi-religious discussion for 24 pages. We have been discussing the matter intelligently, and the thread has managed to avoid closure. I would like to politely ask you that you not get my thread closed by bashing other members. Thank you.

And furthermore, don't advertise your pointless thread here.

Oh please. The fact you can call it bashing when I point out the foolishness of someone is merely opinion. If you can't such opinion, then hoestly...why did you start such an opinionated thread?

Nonetheless, Rosebloom, you would be well advised to tone that attitude down a notch.

BTW, again, this argument is straying too far from evolution itself and back into a basic religion debate; please do not...

The reason is probably because evolution deals so much with religoin. It's like democrats vs. Republicans. You can't really talk about one without the other being brought up. Since the two are "enemies" it'll be hard to stick to strict evolution.

It can be done without making fundamental attacks on base belief systems.

Indeed it can.

Telling someone "you want them to go burn for all eternity" because of their opinions is a bit silly. And can easily be seen as a bash.

Well Ushgarak, the entire point of this post to to talk about evolution. If you disagree with what someone says, and you argue with them it isn't exactly attacking their beliefs.

indeed.

Read your own post for god's sake 🙄

"I hope you die a tragic death, and burn in an eternity without God there to pity you."

No, you're not bashing at all. 🙄
