Has anyone read the play "Inherit the Wind"?. It's about the Scope's or the Monkey Trial. A teacher tought the theory of evolution and was arrested b/c it violated state law

We went over the Monkey Trail in class. I believe in God, but the idea of Evolution is just so logical.

It was in the US. I think the play was written in the 1950's, but I think the trial was sometime earlier, in the late 1800's

So the verdict is: whilst there is still no shred of evidence to substantiate the theory of evolution, I can't imagine anyone owning up to being the Creator - come on own up! How did you make such a disastrous mess of things!

no evidence of evolution????? 🤨 where have u been? there's plently of evidence. It's creationism that has no evidence. Go back some pages, there's plenty of evidence for evolution

Most critical to evolution are fossil records, they show the linkage between past creatures and present. All species that are related have similar bone structure. Also, our DNA is very, very similar to that of chimps, only a small percentage is different.
In the Galapagos Islands, Darwin observed 14 species of Finches that only live there. Each specie has a different feature that allows it to survive.

There's more, but I can't think of it right now.

Alot of the linking fossil records were fake. There was no evidence of evolution in experimental fruit flies in a year and those insects breed fast.

Evolution doesn't occur over a year. It takes thousands, millions of years to occur. It's a very slow process.
Evolution is a response to change. Let's atke bacteria for example. If we can the environment, the bacteria would be forced to adopt or die. If we were to add penicillin to the evironment, all those bacteria cells that are not immune to the drug would die off. Those with a natural immunity would survive and pass those genes on. This is artifical evolution, but it's similar to natural.
I don't think anyone can deny that we're not related to apes and monkeys.

And there was no faking the links in the fossil record. Show me the link to the newssite saying that, and I'll show you, that you're wrong. ANd please, no fundamentalist Christian pro-Cretaionist site. Those people have been caught lying before, so their credablity is low.
If you cannot supply me with a link, please explain what maks you an expert on evolution, mutation and biology.
