It matters because what you do with the 60, 70, 80 or even 90 years on this earth will determine where you will be for an eternity! One day, wether you look forward to it or not, you will find out.
Evolution is anti-science. Science deals with things that are testable, observable, and can be demonstrated, evolution has none of those qualities. How do you even begin to determine the earth if billions upon billions of years old?
You wouldn't even begin to think that we came from bacteria if they were not here. Show me a missing link in a "evolution tree" of organisms.
If it did take "millions" of years to evolve, wouldn't there be countless numbers of missing link fossils that you can prove were in between two totally different organisms?
In this picture, when they branch off to seperate animals, wouldn't they put a picture of what the link between the two was? No, because it doesn't exist. Now, I don't know a lot when it comes the physics, science, stuff like that, but the person who can talk the best will win (probably you Omega) but that doesn't mean you're right.

That's one of the most ridiculous comments I've heard in this thread. But I'll answer your question anyways...
1. Carbon dating (and if you give me any of that "carbon dating has been proven to be inaccurate" crap, I expect to see a link to a reputable site)
2. We can see light from stars that are millions of light years away. This would be impossible if we were only 6000 years old.

You treat it as if EVERYTHING becomes a fossil when it dies. This is absolutely untrue... The odds that something will become a fossil after its death are incredibly slim. And there is a nearly complete pattern of "link fossils", in fact...
They don't put all the animals on the tree dealy because there have been billions of different types of organisms. Like, for example, when you learn about a caterpillar changing into a butterfly, you deal basically with three stages: caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly. Obviously there are an infinite number of intermediate stages, but you don't learn about those because to start with it is not necessary, and also because, as I said, there are an infinite number of them.

I have found proof enough, for me at least, that the Bible is a fabrication. I'd rather not go into a great amount of detail about that, it would take me forever... But I do have my reasons for believing that heaven and hell are made up.

Evolution IS observable, you dimwit. Haven't you ever heard of the Galapagos finches? And we can determine that the Earth is several billion years old -- it's called fossils, and carbon-dating. There's also another method that I can't remember the name of, but it can date further back than carbon-dating can.

No, the reason there's no picture of what the link between two species was, is because it most likely is extinct, and has been for many, many years. And generally those who talk the best are those who KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.
My point? There's a HELL of a lot of evidence for evolution, while what evidence is there for creationism? A single book. Wow.
I think I'm going to be pulling out all my biology and physics notes this afternoon....
