Avenged Sevenfold...shit?...hell no

OK, so we know that you think the band is not very good...and alot of people have been talking about how great synyster's parts sound and how good M. Shadows sounds...personally, Shadows has seen better days voicewise. His first 2 cd's were pretty amazing vocally, but his new sound, im still undecided. As for synyster gates, there is no way in hell he is overrated. Ive seen the technicality of his solos...so what if you dont like how they sound. Alot of his solos are extremely hard to play, considering the technical difficulty, and thus i think he should be given a lot more credit than overrated. Another excellent member that i havent seen many people talk about is the reverend...he is unbelievable. As a fellow percussionist, his drum parts are extremely advanced and not easily replicable. Many of their songs follow a musical pattern you dont see very often in todays music, with some of the patterns stemming from classical music patterns, which are very well thought out and hard to put together. Altogether, you have one of the most talented and technical bands out there today (far surpassing the level of poison the well for all you non-musicians out there). Now whether or not you like their sound, that's your opinion, but dont say that their music is shit when it is far beyond playing level of most of the bands out there today and that their members are overrated when they are most definitely not.
What do you mean how? By people claiming he's an innovative, excellent technical player. He's not.
Proof? Put him next to actual innovative, excellent technical players like Tom Morello, Eddie Van Halen etc and he looks like Joe Nobody.
Great guitarists are Adam Jones, Tom Morello, James Hetfield, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Robert Fripp etc. You actually thinking he is one of those doesn't mean that me knowing he isn't, demeans my judgement.
If you like the music he makes, cool. Stop claiming he's this innovative, outstanding player. He's not. He's fast, that's about it. In any case, there are much faster.

You asked how he is overrated, I showed you why he is OVERrated. His speed, to me, isn't impressive, but I'm not gonna rob him of the fact that he is quite fast. Impressive speed is Yngwie Malmsteen, not Synyster Gates.
Oh and by the way, he only sounds as technical and difficult as he does because he has another guitarist backing him up. Like Joey Jordison in Slipknot has percussionists. Although he's higher in the drummer ranks than Gates is in the guitarist ranks, by comparison.
My post was to mshadowsisagod claiming that "I can't say shit".

Who made the connection of Synyster being overrated and the band sucking? Not me. I just happen to think the two things, they aren't inherent to one another.
I don't like the band from a subjective standpoint because I've heard their material (wouldn't judge if I hadn't) and they're not doing anything that hundreds of other bands aren't doing, well enough for me to say "Ok they're innovative" or "Ok they're worth giving my time to." If you believe they are, that's fine. I don't. They might sound a bit different, but they're still just a bit different. There's nothing there worth my time.
Eg: There are tons of metal bands out right now. I personally like Trivium. Now, they're getting criminally overrated, which is a shame because they are a good band. All the other identikit metal bands aren't necessarily good bands. Trivium are only 19 so I'm excusing their inexperience at the moment, I think people sometimes forget that. Avenged Sevenfold are just one of many metalcore bands who are now trying to abandon the scene that made them by being another metal band with some singing, some screaming. Which admittedly, Trivium have. But they do it well. Avenged Sevenfold are not doing it well enough in my opinion. They're not doing anything different, and they've had experience.
I think they're all really just mediocre at what they do instrumentally. Not that it matters, or not that it enhances my decision. I just don't think they're up to much.

Ruzz, anyone can use a double kick and make it sound technical. That's why it's a double kick. It's for drummers who can't necessarily handle a better kit with a double bass. Not saying skilled drummers don't use double kicks, but that's what it's used for a lot of the time.
As for them being advanced, look at it this way: If you're a shit or mediocre drawing artist, someone who's been through art school will seem way out there. To Salvador Dali, they'll seem like nothing.

They don't sound different or unique enough for me to give them any of my time. Read my posts please.

They do. Avenged Sevenfold finished their first album by the time they were 18. M Shadows was around 23 when they released Waking the Fallen and that was in 2003 if I remember correctly. Trivium are 19 max, today.
Also, no you're wrong. Joey Jordison uses a double bass, one pedal per drum. Not two on one, which is a double kick. The cheating way out to getting a double bass sound. As I just said.
Fast doesn't matter anyway.
