im sorry but anyone who says they know the complete truth is a damn fool... it was a good movie keep in mind it is still only a movie hes not preaching a religion.. its his opinion his beliefs.. and dont say its a lie or its true cause unless ur the oldest person in the world you dont know.. just have faith in what you believe just because someone makes something like this people dont need to get their panties in a bunch..
bottom line good flick great acting props to them and mel
it was Satan who was carrying what some people think is sopposed to be the anti-christ. i go to a Christian school and we were talking about the movie in Bible class, and the teacher was talking about that. she said it was sopposed to represent what happened if Jesus wasnt crucified... or somethin, i dont remember.
My take on this movie is that Mel Gibson wanted to show what Jesus..as a man...went through to save us from our sins. He felt pain like a man and agony like a man although as Son of God he could have rid himself of those things. It made me think...is the human race that bad that Jesus had to go through such agony?
Also...I was wondering about the child thing Satan was carrying.
I think every person gets this movie on there own level. There is no perfect right interpt of it. 👆
here's my review:
A very good movie. Any version of this true story is going to have some interpretation involved, but from what I could tell, the interpretations were accurate with Biblical accounts of the events. It was sad and a bit gory.....but that's good. It brought to light the sheer amounts of pain that were involved with Christ's crucifixtion. The injusticeness of it all is clear....he did NOTHING to deserve such treatment, but the wicked hearts of men prevailed. In hindsight, it was a good thing, for through his sacrifice we are indeed saved. However, as this movie pointed out it wasn't some simple "ok I'll do this" kinda deal....this was "OK, Father, I submit myself to your will."
as for Satan....creepy...totally creepy....but do I expect a portrayal to be anythign less than completely unnerving....no

that was a horrible movie. way too violent with no emphasis on the ideological teachings of christ, except for a line or two...mainly it was laughter from the annoying charicatures of roman soldiers as well as jewish high priests...and whipping after whipping...
the movie was NOT about christs teachings.. it was about his sufferings..
this movie was by far the most mind-numbing thing i have ever seen **witnessed** in my life...
although there were a few misquotes and over emphasis on parts, i do believe that it very accurately portrayed the passion. if y'all want the truth, i am not very religous, however, i believe that anyone who sees this film will get something out of it (i saw it w/my best friend, hes muslim) and he said that it even moved him.
regardless of the many philisophical and religious questioning that comes out of it (i think i gotta talk to a priest now), this movie is well worth seeing, if you can handle it. looking back on other gory movies, nothing can compare to the brutal images of a man being whipped w/a whip w/small knives on the end of it over 40 times...

A lot of people will watch this movie for the story and dont give a rats ass if it is accurate according to the gospel of the new testament. At least the gospel that was picked to be accepted by the head of the christian curch at that time the new testament was put together.
What a hoax
