I saw it yesterday. It was good, not great. The dialogue was tacky, and completely unnecessary to tell the story. Basically it was Jesus being biblical constantly, and removed any vision of him as a mad, since no man talks in constant sonnets like he did in the film.
Now to the violence, it is superbly done, and look very real. I've seen much worse though, and it didn't phase me really. As Finti said above, I have no interest in religion nor christianity, and if you look at this movie as what it is - a movie- it is good, but not without it's flaws.
