Yersie the thing about hanging on the cross is that it is most of the time portrayed that jesus got the nails through the palms of his hands.
This way would rip his hands apart, but if the nails were put through where the hand "joins" the arm it would hold. Also they had some sort of seat under their butts to support the body(this takes away the weight of the upper part of the torso) in order to extend the amount of time they were being nailed to the cross.
And it might be that jesus didnt carry the entire cross, just the cross bar.
That should be heavy enough, they might have nailed him to a tree

I was reading this thread and cant seem to understand why Kes is so concerned with people talking about religion in this thread. The movie is meant for religious reasons not for so much for entertainment.

not only that, but the hanging in Y-form already would be impossible, even with that seat for his feet, his arms would have fallen off after a few hours

Yes but you know the veins arent position at the exact same spot in different ppl. Their there but you cant go with a ruler and say: "2cm from the right!"

one can nail that part of the hand without cutting the vital veins
