Well, as I see it, Sith seen in films are extremally powerful. Even Aprrentices, like Maul or Dooku, are beyond the power of most Jedi Masters. So I could see Emperor or Vader having few not powerful cultists around, as long as they are signiificantly inferior to them. You could even use a force users without the Jedi training, like that Bureau guy that hunted us in Darkside game, was able to sense force users.

And without Luke around, and Vader hating Emperor, and knowing he can`t take him, him training apprentice for help sounds reasonable.

Maul was just a Swordsman! And Count Dooku a Jedi Master when he took the job.

Anakin was only a Knight when Sidious took him on. The Apprentice is just the one who is not the master, there is no actual statement of how powerful that person is!

Just commenting that Palpatine should feel more threatened by his most powerful non-Force lackeys, like Tarkin, than a barely trained Darksider.

Besides, with the Jedi extinct, the only reason to have rule of two is that few apprentices could take on Master. Judging by Palpatine`s megalomany in ROTJ, he could well consider himself invincible.

But indeed, canon doesn`t directly support the idea of there being a lot of Darksiders in the era of the movies.

The Expanded Universe tells us that the Emperor kept Dark Siders around as his lackeys, some for the purpose of just being minions and followers (Heretic-style) and then the Emperor's Hands, all secret operatives for his will (Marauder/Corsair/Brigand-style). It has been pretty consistent that few were every Jedi Knights, as I doubt the Emperor would want these sleaze-bag ship-jumping Jedi hanging around with him.

As for Vader's Apprentice,

Spoiler:
the Emperor and Vader kill him when the Emperor reveals that he knows everything anyways
.

Ok, so the Force Unleased was old news. BUT, I was at Wal-Mart last night, checking out the new Star Wars releases. THere was a special clone trooper. His name: Captain Rex. No joke.

Haha, yeah, I saw that. I'm guessing he has the same namesake as I do.

Ush, I just wanted to say...

I started running a game of my own a couple weeks ago, and just now I learned why you do evil shit to your players.

It is, frankly, hilarious. I may whine and ***** when it happens to me, but I completely understand your position.

The Ride at disneyland?
I doubt it.

shrug Maybe it was a subconscious thing.

Daleks in Star Wars

I do believe this lends credence to my theory that the Desert of Stones houses a Cyberman factory.

I've been reading lots of old RP stuff. Like, really old, 7 years and that. It's pretty cool how it all worked and such, very entertaining.

Also, makes me wish I had stuck to it in 2005.

Geez, I think I'm the only player who remembers that far back, at the moment. Well, Chris might. And even I only started the tail end of the first episode.

Oh don't worry, soon I will remember better than you, muhahahahahaha.

Seriously though, it's more fun to read than most EU stuff...

Thankfully we have a brilliant Gamemaster to provide these wonderful plots! I certainly agree, sometimes I feel that what we do here is far more entertaining and truer to the original Star Wars material than most of the Expanded Universe is.

I try to keep up with my own little flashback games, but my writing skills pale in comparison and I am inexperienced with writing successful RPG plots.

What I actually admired the most was the thought that went into analysis of the movies, lots of stuff I didn't realize or saw that way at all.

It's actually quite funny because Kuylen (considered the main villain to the Jedi) was a fallen Jedi Knight and an extremely skilled and powerful swordsman... which is exactly what Dooku was, though he fell as a Jedi Master. But Kuylen existed before Dooku. Weird occurence!

Yeah, I read the post thread for Campaign one, some other odd occurrences, too.

Does Ush's brother still have anything to do with the games?

There seems to be this habit of official sources mirroring things from these games...with the games having been written beforehand.

It's happened in SW a number of times, and the Matrix game as well (a big part of the plot for the last Matrix game was identical to a part of the plot from Matrix Online).

It's pretty funny 😛

They are actually originally written by Ush's brother, who runs them offline (Ush plays them offline).

Ush then converts them and runs them on here.

Funny......or sinister?

Which is a great load of fun, as you can tell.

And then my short snippets are written by me for online use. Not being the type to think ahead, I usually need to tinker every so often with the game...

They're so stealing our ideas...

I'm not much for game-running myself - I lack the attention to detail and ability to really plan ahead - but I am working on a story for a game we play elsewhere. Should be interesting, should I ever make it...😛
