Lily smiled and casually talked to him although she wanted to burst. "Your name is again?" asked Lily.

Catori watched when she too felt a light tap on her shoulder. She looked up to see her Uncle. He motioned for her to follow him. They left the fire and walked a little ways out of ear shot.

Catori looked at her uncle. Something was bothering him. "Why do you look so worried?" she asked.

Her uncle forced a smile. "Catori, I am. I'm worried about you. Who is this white man?" he asked as they walked along.

Catori sighed. "His name is Buddy Reno"

Her uncle chuckled. "Weird last name...even for a white man."

"Riko, and I great son of your friends' uncle," said Riko. Lily smiled and soon was ushered toward the uncle and Tela with a beckoning hand.

Catori's Uncle sighed. "Catori, your father extends his hospitality to this Buddy, but your father has had someone ask for your hand."

Catori gasped. "What did he say?"

Her uncle smiled. "That he saw no problem in it, but that it was your decision."

Greg had watched the ceremony away from the group, at his own little fire. He was now cleaning his pistols, and new aquired shot gun. He watched the group mingle with the Indians and smiled. It was good that they had been excepted. He would go soon, but right now he just wanted to watch.

Lily was getting to know Roku and was soon ushered into Tela and the uncle's arguement.

Luis watched Catori from where he was having the contest with the boys. He could tell from her very expression what had happened. When her uncle left, he decided he would go talk to her.

Catori hugged her Uncle and Riko. "Thank you for telling me." she said as they and Sunia left. She wanted to think about this and also for Sunia and Riko to get to know each other.

Luis walked down from the ridge he had been on and met Catori as she was heading wherever she was going. "So... How's it feel, being engaged?"

Catori turned around. "It's not official. I haven't agreed. My father says it is up to me."

Luis grunted a short affirmative noise. "Well... Are you going to? I'm not trying to pry or nothing."

Gregor was riding through town...

Catori sighed. "I don't know. I mean the man who asked is from another tribe. It is good for the peace between our tribes, but..."

Luis gave a short chuckle. "I know how you feel.. I've been there. My father was a rich ranch owner. There was another man, I don't remember his name, but he owned a competing ranch. They were going to marry his daughter and I, so that they could combine the two ranches and make even more money.. It didn't work out so well."

Lily talked to Roku until the uncle advanced on her.

"What happened?" Catori asked interested.

"Well... The other man decided he wanted to call the deal off, and sent some of his lackies to my father's ranch. And... This other girl, who worked in the house, she was shot... That's one of the reasons I ran away."

"What did i do wrong?" asked Lily as he looked her in the eye. The vicious uncle did.

The uncle backed off as he saw the 'darkie' talking to Catori.

Catori shook her head. "I don't think that is going to happen. I don't know though. The guys name is Miko (racoon, not really). I'm not even entirely sure if I like him as a friend much less a husband."
