The floorboards of the barn creeked under Leo's boots. Somewhere else in the barn he heard someone elses boots doing the same.
"Hello?" He asked the darkness, again dropping his hands to his belt where his two guns lay.
"Ye finally found me then..." a voice answered. Leo heard the wirl of a revolvers chamber, followed by more footsteps.
"You know me?" Leo asked.
"That must have been quite a blow I gave ye...enough to make ye forget"
"You....You did this to me?"
The voice only laughed, Leo heard the revolvers hammer click back. Instinctively he leapt to the floor and rolled, hitting something that felt like hay. He raised his hand to the top of the hay block (~Couldn't remember the actual name~) and flew over it. A bullet hit where he had just been. Leo removed his guns from his holsters and looked around...only darkness.

An idea struck Leo, although he didn't know where from. He took his left revolver and shot five bullets into the room, at seemingly random intervals. Sunlight shone down through them, revealing more of the barn. Leo ducked as a couple of shots hit past his head, another went into the haystack he was hidden behind.
"I see ye still remember some things then..." the voice came from the doorway. It was the last thing the stranger said before rushing out of the barn and to a horse.

By the time Leo had gotten outside the stranger was already in the distance. Leo saddled up and chased after the stranger.

A tall, well built man with a day's growth of stubble and an angry glint in his eye came to get the prisoners out of the cell. He grabbed each of them in turn by the collar and quite literally threw them out the door. He had a short, thin scar beneath one of his beady black eyes. Half a cigar was hanging out of his mouth.

((moved this post after Tela's))

Catori walked alongside Buddy smiling. It was suuny as it was most of the time. She kept an eye out for anyone willing to turn them in or more precisely do them in.

It was near noon in their day of travel across the open plains of west Texas, when Buddy and Catori came upon an old abandoned farmstead. Fire had apparently downed the main house, but a rickety old barn still stood tall against the ravages of time and weather.

"Let's hole up here, find some water and rest a bit..." Buddy decided.
"We should arrive in Abilene by nightfall, if we keep---" he poked his head inside the barn as he babbled, noting the bullet-holes which riddled the walls, and spotting a few golden shell casings strewn on the ground amongst the straw bales and haystacks.

"Uhh, we shouldn't stay here long though..." he changed his mind, "Just a little rest..."

Bounty hunters? turning on themselves, perhaps? or something else entirely... whatever held camp here was well armed, so would make a formidable opponent for a weary gambler and his battle-scarred sweetheart...

Catori nodded. She was not as naive about certain stuff as in the white man's warfare. Of course Miko had forbidden her to ever fire their guns. She the felt a tinge of pain at the thought of letting her parents down. She looked away from uddy so he wouldn't see it.

Lily galloped her horse around and headed through Abilene with Miko following her trying to find Catori. Riko caught Lily when she stopped and spun her. Putting her down he tugged on her braid once more.

"Take this..." Buddy offered his little Native American companion one of his pistols, noticing she had left behind her bow and arrow. "It's cleaned and loaded, just aim and pull the trigger..."

There was a rustling from behind the barn, and Buddy moved to check it out. There was a black puppy dog, whimpering and whining, shot in the haunches, and bleeding a lot.

"Careful, boy... easy now.." Buddy soothed the savage beast, stepping closer. Around its neck, the Newfoundland pup wore a small hollow bone, which contained a piece of paper. The paper was a note: ISAAC PROPURTY OF NIC MCGOVERN-- IF FOND RETERN TO JP RANCH, 10 MILS WEST OF ABILENE, TEXAS

Catori read the paperover Buddy's shoulder. "He is in a lot of pain." she noted. "Should we end it or try to return him to his master."

Buddy looked at Catori, somewhat set aback.

"End it??" he snapped, "It's a helpless little dog, not a wounded mountain lion or rattlesnake or blue bandana bandito!" he swiped a hand over his sweaty scruffy mouth, and examined the puppy again.
"It don't look serious... if I had some of that firewater and a dagger, some strips of cloth for bandages, I could fix him right up, I reckon..."

He looked around curious, and finally noticed Catori's legs again, or more specifically...

"Are you wearing a petticoat underneath??" he asked her.

Catori's eyes widened. "Ptticoat?" she asked. She had no clue what he was talking about. She cocked her head to the side.

Luis and the other two sat in a cramped room lit only by a single oil lamp hanging from the ceiling. The brawny man paced back and forth in front of them, staring at the floor and mumbling something they couldn't understand. Finally, he stopped and stared down at them. He grabbed Luis by the collar and stood him up. "What do you know about the whereabouts of Buddy Reno and his fellows?" Luis said nothing. "Talk, wetback!" Still nothing. "I said talk, dammit!" the man smacked him on his left temple with the butt of a pistol.

Buddy smiled at her innocence. "You know, underwear... White women, European women, wear petticoats underneath their dresses, underwear, to keep their fancy dresses clean of body fluids and all that stuff... I figured, I was wondering... you went shopping with Lily, with Sunia, back in town, right? she showed you things, fancy dresses and such..

did you buy anything? are you wearing anything extra, I could use for bandages?"

he was really wishing he had gone further in his fireside explorations the other night...

Lily held on to Riko and blushed before she had her dog circle around her happily.

Just about that time, the WANTED POSTER of the blue-eyed European-Indian girl was being posted all around the city of Abilene. $2500 REWARD! DEAD OR ALIVE! SUNIA 'LILY' SANDERS WANTED!

If Lily and Riko stayed on the streets of Abilene much longer, there would be more Hell to pay...

In the jail...

The burly scarred man was rearing back for another crack upside Luis Pasilla's face, when his arm was halted and held by a black-gloved hand.
The tall thin man entered, and simply twisted the bigger badder mans's thumb completely opposite the way it naturally bends, and the man collapsed to his knees, dropping the pistol and crying out in agony.

"Barbarian!" the gaunt proper man seethed, while the bigger fatter man crawled from the room, whimpering. "Send in 3 more deputies, who will be more compliant with my instructions..." he commanded to the guards outside the holding chamber as he placed his satchel on the table and drummed his fingers over the rough-hewn leather case.

"Now then..." he looked over the prisoners appraisingly. "Will you be good little sheep and strip down to your breeches, or should I have to be more forceful, hmmmm?"

Leo kicked Gene's side again
"Come on! We need to catch him!!" Leo shouted at Gene.
However, it seemed to have slipped his mind that Gene hadn't had much of a rest or a drink in the past few days and was now exasted. Gene slowed down to a near trot speed. Leo dismounted and looked at Genes face, understanding how it felt. He quickly grabbed some food off the saddle and held it out to Gene.
"Eat it......please....." He hadn't known he would get this attached to a horse.
The horse put its head forward to eat it and collapsed.
"Nooooooo!" Leo yelled, loud enough for anyone anound to here, although he doubted there would be anyone around, he was in the middle of no where. He fell to his knees and strocked Genes coat before removing the saddle and the equipment it held. A small tear ran down his cheek. He wasn't sure if it was from the death of his horse or from losing sight of the only person who had clues to his past.

Catori nodded. She handed it to Buddy. Watching the dog wimpering it broke her heart. she felt sorry for the creature.

Victoria Wortright-Sanders(Scholar Lady) walks around the street having her blue dress swirl around her in an unexpected wind. Vic reached the door of the school house in Abiliene and noticed a ripped piece of paper on the ground. She picked it up tenderly and fingered the photograph of her half-sister horrorified. It was probably just a joke. Sheriff Sanders made some jokes like that sometimes. Seeing the reward she knew it was real, he wouldn't kid around like that.

"Who are ye Missy?" asked a rough man, who seemed pretty skinny for his age. "Ye look an awful lot like that Sunia girl. Are ye her? Cause' if ye are ye'll be comin' with me to the jail." A pair of handcuffs shined in his hand.

"I'm Victoria Wortright-Sanders or Scholar Lady. I teach the local childern at the school during the week. I started about a month ago," said Victoria pulling out her teaching degree. "What did Sunia do?" Her eyes flickered in curiousty.

"Sunia? Hmmm. . .She got away from the bindin' on her and hogtailed after Buddy Reno and his gang. That's a crime in itsel'," he said looking at the lady longinly because of her beauty and charm.

"Thank you, my good sir. It was nice chatting with you," said Vic before she hurried into the Sheriff's office. "Father? Are you there? It's me Scholar Girl!" Looking around she saw a man torturing some men and she turned her head. "Have you seen my father? I really need to speak to him." Covering her eyes she talked to something else, like the wall.

Lily breathed heavily and hid behind a barrel trying to regain herself. Taking one shaky hand she felt someone grab her up and shake her. She flew several feet before they handcuffed her and Riko bolted out of their, faster than a rabbit.

"Finally caught you Sunia," said Steve happily. He picked her up roughly in his arms taking her to the Inquistor. "Thought I never could."

"You don't need me," said Lily as she struggled. He threw her in with the rough boys and the Inquistor.

"Oh yes I do. No money to pass out is why," said her brother before he left her with the evil man and Vic?

After doing what little he could to work the feminine undergarments into a decent bandage, Buddy moved to pick up the wounded dog. Though it was obviously still a pup, it was an armful, it would be a large dog one day, Buddy hoped.

"Thank you for the petticoat, Flower... but, I'm afraid we need to get to a doctor or someone skilled in dealing with animals... let's move on out, to Abilene... unfortunately, we'll have to take the road in from here, less stress and strain on the dog..." Buddy frowned at the prospect of wandering the well-traveled road especially since there were a good 8 hours of daylight left.

"Just be on your guard for patrols from the rear, so we can hide out if necessary..." he suggested sternly. Then, they were off... to Abilene!!
