Catori nodded. She knew that she had to keep her eyes opened and focuse and her ears perked. They couldn't get caught.

Vic looked at the man torturing the others. "Where is Sheriff Sanders?" she asked roughly with a little bit of authority. "Why is my sister here too?"

Greg went to take his boots off, and quickly pulled his knife out, and stabbed teh big man in the throat, and took his pistol. He turned to Luis. "Now would be a good time to get moving."

OK... uhhh... OK... 😱cowboyeurodeathhang

(((Eep, not good, Run!!!)))

Luis stared at the dead man for a moment. Then he took the knife out of his throat and stuck it into his belt. On second thought, he took it out and left it on the ground. He didn't want to be accused of having killed the man. He looked around for a few seconds, then grabbed a keyring, jabbed a key into his leg shackles, and undid them. After doing the same for everyone else, he rushed out the door.

Upstairs in the jail house office, the Marshall was just meeting with the Army Commander, while other deputies discussed future jailhouse policies.

"Mmmm.. ok, so starting tomorrow, we take boots and clothes from all prisoners, leave them in their skivvies in the cells... that should solve that dreadful nightmare of criminal folk stowing daggers and single-shot specials in their boots and the like... like the last 12 times that happened..."

"Yup, good call Jesse... shoulda thunk a that 7 years ago... woulda saved a lotta lives... we lose more superior intellect, mysterious European Inquisitors that way... dese here, dem dere criminals, be so smart somadatimes... howdeydodat?"

"Welp, Commander Jericho, you managed to wrangle the Vaquero, the Darkie, and the Gunslinger in on fell swoop... let me see... as well as offering good solid information that Buddy Reno and the savage were most probably killed in a cave-in... mmmhmmm... carry the 1... naught naught... all tolled, I figure it to be around $10,000 you be owed... that seem near right to you, Mr-- uh, Deputy Sanders? seein' as it be your money payin' this here bounty?"

Steven Sanders nodded at the Marshall and the Army Commander, "Yep... $10,000 seems about right..." he began thumbing thru a parcel filled with cash, counting quietly to himself.

"It's $13,500.." Commander Jericho corrected coolly. "...and you can keep your blood money... I want Reno.... Buddy Reno is a renegade Army soldier, a traitor to his country, and he must be brought to justice! The others in his posse are puppets, to him... bait to me... they do all the killin', he takes all the loot, and all the accolades, and leave 'em all hanging in the breeze... just like at the end of a noose..."

Just about then, the interior door crashed open and the killing began again, as Greg and the gang made their break for it...

"DADBALSTED TARNATION!!" the deputies cried. "I knew we shoulda took their boots!!!" BLAM BLAM BLAM! "...-ook- -urk!- ... one... more... day..."

The Marshall and Commander Jericho dove for cover, and scrambled outside while the deputies took most of the gunfire...

Luis didn't shoot anybody, trying to avoid getting in any more trouble than he was already in.

((gee I don't know how to continue this...))

Catori nodded. She knew that she had to keep her eyes opened and focuse and her ears perked. They couldn't get caught.

Deputy Steven Sanders stood his ground against the escaping convicts, ducking behind an overturned desk, 3 shotguns and several pistolas at his disposal from the gun case against the wall behind the desk.

"There's no escape, Pasillas!" Sanders shouted. "Now just get control of your gang, and everything will be alright... we'll just get you calm, strip you to your skivvies, and hang ya in the morning, and all will be right with the world again... what do you say, Vaquero?!"

Buddy and Catori made way closer to Abilene, along the main road, eventually coming upon the JP's Ranch...

"This is the place..." Buddy smiled, scratching the puppy in his arms. "You're home, boy!"

They wandered cautiously up the front drive, to the main house...

Catori hoped the owner of this ranch was not like the other one. She petted the dog careful not to hurt him. "Home, sounds good doesn't it." she whispered to the dog.

Luis looked around nervously, then saw the window. It was a long shot, but if he was going to be hung in the morning anyways... It was worth a try. He found a hunting knife lying on the floor, probably off of one of the dead guards. He smacked its blade with the heel of his boot, sending it flying up into the air and catching it.

He ran across the room as fast as he could, and, using his hat to protect his hands, dove out the window. He landed in a back alley, and there was a sickening "crunch" sound as he hit the ground. Ignoring the burning pain coming from his arm, he ran off to the stockyards to see if he could find his horse.

Greg fired the one pistol he had until it was empty, then ran by the desk where his own belt was, and grabbed it. He broke through the door and followed Luis, careful to keep an eye out behind then, while Luis watched in front.

Lily ran for it. Vic ducked as bullets shattered in the air. Lily got out and away from the sheriff. "What's going on?" asked Vic confused.

Luis was long gone from the jail. He had no intention of getting gunned down by the sheriff.

Lily caught up to Luis and threw him a handgun as they ran for all they were worth. Poor Lily tripped over a large rock and went tumbling down. This way she fell on a rock unconcious. Darkness swirled over her eyes and soon all she saw was a blur of colors. They blended in and together for some time before they focused hours later.

On a desk of steel she lay chained to the sides. Vic paced and looked in the window unsure about what was happening to her half-sister. Struggling she couldn't get out of the tough cuffs. Soon a man hid in the shadows appeared. It was the Inquistor.

Luis somehow managed to find his horse among the hundreds of others tied in the auction yard. He also found Nat's, and untied her, too. He jumped on Pancho's back and led the appaloosa behind him.
