The only new character I like is the young CTU agent.

Even though he hasn't really done anything.

I think one of the easiest ways to improve this season is to bring back established characters. Think back to Season 3 (when they brought back Nina) and Season 7 (when they brought back Tony). People were invested in these characters which resulted in a more engaging story -- mind you, not the best seasons but their presence definitely elevated the storyline. Granted, this can work against the show (see: Season 6 bringing back Logan for no apparent reason).

I'm honestly not fond of any new characters. Cole was promising but he's quickly becoming useless. I initially saw Hassan as the same mold as D. Palmer but his ambiguity lately is frustrating. The only new character I liked was Farhad. Not even death stopped him from providing entertainment value.

You didn't think season 7 was one of the best?

It was better than I expected but not above Seasons 1, 4, and 5. I'd say it was slightly better than the infamous Season 2.

And despite Season 6 being my least favorite, it had one of the best episodes of all time (see: Episode 4).

Haha couldn't agree more, I was thinking about making a thread on which character people most want to see return.

Here are a few characters I would like to see...

- Chase Edmunds

- Mike Novick (all the new White House staff are gay)

- Kate Warner (I liked her, some rivalry b/w her and Renee would be nice)

- President John Keeler (He did such a good job as President, such a shame he didn't get more screen time)

- Audrey Raines/James Heller (Well, not really Audrey, but Wth happened to them???)

- Josh Bauer (wow, the last surviving Bauer other than Jack)

- Mike Doyle

- NOT Tony Almeida. I love the guy, but I get this bad feeling if he returns too soon they'll kill him off.

I'd also love if Curtis Manning's relative (say brother) was also an experienced marine/agent, and he comes into the picture (e.g CTU) with a secret agenda of evening the score with Jack. How freaking awesome would that be? Don't think too much about it, your mind might explode.

^ That's actually a pretty good list of characters. We know them enough to care but they're not important enough to distract from the storyline. I do agree with the White House staff this season being less-than-stellar. In the past 4 to 5 episodes, the President has been relegated to a secretary.

tonight's show i liked... next week's twist i think i already know but will wait until next week

wow what a failure. Just when we think maybe we can stop wasting time with the stupid Walsh story they bring it right back. This is starting to rival Kim and the Cougar for worst story ever.

The cougar story had the decency of not taking up half the day.

Easily my favorite episode of the season. Felt very old-school but not in a bad way. Best one yet.

man tonight's show rocked.. bring on next week's ep

Excellent show last night. Didnt see the

Spoiler:
EMP coming
. I immediately thought of MW2. Things should start to pick up now since Jack has to rely pretty much on his skillz.

now Jack can really beat the crap out of people

Man I freaking knew that the IRK Head of Security dude planned the whole thing the moment he let the daughter observe him trying to bargain for her life and make it look like he still wanted to save her.

I also deduced she was going to unknowingly deliver a package to some sort of target although I thought there might've been a incendiary bomb on her persons and she was going back to her father.

Damn I'm good.

Your good or the writers are simply losing it?

you and me both, I figured it all out a few eps back, but kept it all to myself

It was also really hard to guess when on the previews for next time they showed the car driving into the tunnel and everyone at CTU freaking out. I love when people act like they solved some great mystery *after it was already over* and when they showed 80% of it before it even happened.

Keep up the good work but which one is Holmes and who is Watson?

Okay, I will take all your skepticism and accusations as extreme compliments.

I typed my post right after I watched the episode. I also did not watch any previews.

I knew something was up right when Head of Security guy let the daughter watch his conversation with the lead terrorist for her own benefit. It was obvious. At that point I didn't know what the final plan was but I knew he was on it. If you missed that, instead of thinking me a liar, think yourself not as observant.

When they were escaping, Head of Security guy did not use lethal action against the other terrorists when he could have, that totally set off alarm bells within me. I knew right after she managed to escape that they let her do so for a reason. First guess was that someone placed a miniature bomb on her when she was captive and she would go back to her father and have a fireworks celebration. This wouldn't be the first time this tactic was used. In fact it was used in the very first season of 24, when Jack unknowingly gave President Palmer a mobile phone packed with explosives that would've killed him if he acted a second later. Of course I did not know it was going to be EMP bomb, nor did I make such a prediction as nothing could've hinted at that.

So yea, I've explained the reasons that allowed me to make my predictions. If you still believe I'm lying to look good or whatever other pathetic reason, than so be it.
