1.the story was for 1 marine to destroy the devil not 3-4

2.people think the original graphics are the same, but the xbox only puts it into low detail, if you put it on high detail on the computer you would see a major difference in the graphics

3. on a tv the sounds dont even make the game scary even if it is at night alone with the lights out, you're sitting away from the tv how the hell does that scare you? sure as hell dont scare me

4.the buttons on the xbox arent enough theres only what 11-12 buttons or something and the pc has i think 100 keys you can do soo much more and you can switch guns fast instead of pressing L or R to get the thing you want. there's so much more you can do on the pc then on the xbox with doom 3

Very true about the grapihcs, one thing I'd like to add is that a normal tv screen can only support 800x600 resulution, and a pc screen can have the 2x of that, 1600x1200, now all gmaes like myself and people that look into a screen almust everyday can clearly say that 800x600 sucks big time!

1. Isnt it the same story as the Doom 3 for PC?

Concerning the sound. IF you have the system to support DTS, DOLBY or Pro Logic 2, then you would get the same as the PC.

They didnt screw up the conversion because its on the XBOX, which has limitations. They did an amazing job for the conversion. It could of been alot worst.
Its not a screw up if the complaints are about graphics and the controller.

it is the same story if u play single player but multiplayer coop....wth were they thinkin or smoking? and about the sound, i probably couldnt afford that crap neways lol

Whats wrong with co-op?
Co-op is a valued commodity for FPS. I would actually get that game because of co-op, its a brilliant idea.

well then theres no point to it....i mean which of the 4 is actually going to be the chosen one....or now is it the chosen 4?? 🙄

Its multiplayer. It doesnt matter. The point of having co-op is to get the feeling of playing beside your friends against a common enemy.
I havnt played it yet but it isnt about the story but more of the gameplay.
A chosen one?

There is no mention in Doom 3 storyline about being a chosen one. THe marine is there based on bad luck.

well duh they dont wanna ruin the game, if you got to the part where it shows a clip on the stones, it shows u in the stones just the head was broken off and lost so no one knew who it was, but it shows your marines body with the soulcube destroying hell, if 4 players play that's why the game will be messed up because there is no point to the stones

The stone's picture isnt part of the story, its an easter egg from the original Doom.
The picture below is from the cover of the original game. It looks mighty similar from the stone's picture.

And also again, it dont matter if the story doesnt go with co-op. Co-op isnt about story, its about multiplayer and gameplay.
There is a point to having the co-op mode. To provide a cool feature that alot of gamers really wanted and not done too much to a game that would work awesome with it. Its replayability. Its an excellent idea. So who cares about story in MP games when you've already played the single player.

they wouldnt have been translating the writings on it in the PDA log. it translates that some ancient group or something made that stone and relied on him to save man-kind. i know it's a carving from the original doom's picture. but the point of it was him destroying hell and keeping mankind alive.

He didnt save mankind. It clearly say's that the guy in the stone created the soulcube and saved his species.

Yes, he is or something like that. The guy in the pictuure is from a species thats non existence.

The marine in the game, the character you play, is not a chosen one or anything special, but just a regular marine, who was in the wrong place and the wrong time.

I wanna join in this discussion, first of if you read and listen to the pda's and the people that are still alive, you r told that there has indeed been a race on mars many thusand years ago, now they also say thats it's a very high possibility that we, the human race might be the desendace of this ancient race, now if we indeed are then it's kinda obvious that they would not look all to diffrent from us, now to the carved picture, it shows a 'person' my theory is this, the 'guy' in the pictures is NOT YOU THE MARINE, it's their(Alien) best hero that vanished the demons many thusand years ago

hey srry bout that i beat the game and i know wat ur talking about now, so ya i changed my mind, first time i beat it i guess i was so anxious to kill the boss i wasnt paying attention (Srry)
