Superman's heat vision is solar based and it can injure him.

That's because it is incalculably hotter than the sun.

What part of the sun is it hotter than?

Besides it's heat shouldn't matter since it's solar based and would just be powering him up.

Superman Vs. Cyclops?! Do you really mean it?! Man, it's stupid! Everyone knows that Cyke's Optic Blasts are solar-based, so they never hurt Big Blue but even empower him!

Actually, his optic blasts aren't solar based. There's actually a gateway to a universe filled with the ruby energy behind his eyes. The blasts are pure concussive force, nothing more, nothing less. Scott uses solar energy to open the gateway, but the blasts themselves are not solar energy.

However, none of that matters, because even a full powered, visorless attack on Supes would do nothing more than tickle him. Wolverine, however, would die horribly from such a blast.

Oops, yes, my mistake. Funny thing - just when I wrote this, I'v known 'bout Optic Blasts real nature. BTW, Man of Steel is vulnerable to red light, isn't it?.. (;-) (I'v always count this VERY stupid... (;-()

god damn you guys are still doing this? It's not even worth debating anymore

The middle of the sun, which is 27,000,000 degrees Farenheit. Superman's heat vision is beyond all scientific measurements.

That is one of the reasons Superman is a weiner.

Exactly. If his high beams were "incalculably hot" He'd vaporize anything and everything....yet he doesn't...

He only vaporizes what he actually hits. Don't forget he can raise his beams to incaculable temperatures. They don't start off at 30 gazibiligitrikillion degrees.

* well, Cyke blasts Logan, period! Cyke wins!

1. Cyclops blast him with a wide arc
2. Assuming Wolverine can still walk and his flesh still isn't completely flayed away from his bones, scott will keep blasting him till his bones are all shiny.
3. In case wolverine is still a bit mobile, cyke can just blast the flesh from his leg bones to keep him from moving.

That is how a normal fight for death against Cyke would go in default settings without wolverine getting to hide anywhere.

* even under the Wolverine-fanboy-dominated forum, Cyke wins the polls... the logic prevails, and the Fearless X-Men Leader wins!

Merged with other Logan/Cyke thread.

* i think not, because Cyke's power is fueled constantly by the sun's solar energy... and it is Cyke's mutant power, it's like batting an eyelash...

how'd you figure that out? Cyke doesn't really charge up his power unlike his brother. His beams are constant because it's been retconned to be coming from gateways(his eyes) to a dimension of pure force.
