Linkin Park

first of all,i want to add to the point that chester HAD a bad childhood and teenage life. Lets see, was physically and sexually abused from like ages 5-13. He started pot when he was 9 and had a tolerance at the age of 11. He was addicted to crack when he turned 13. He was addicted to Meth at the age of 15. He started shooting up when he was 16. And at the age of 17 to 19 he was a binge drinker. Kinda sounds like Jonathan from Korn now huh. By the way the reason im writing this so late is because i just found this. And if U think they are a boy band, maybe U should listen to the songs By Myself and Hit the Floor. Chester can sing. Have you ever tried screaming like that. Like to With You, its harder than what it seems. So if you wanna say that they suck after they have gone platinum EIGHT TIMES for Hybrid Theory then lets compare them to Korn or Audioslave. I dont think they went platinum 8 times which means they MUST suck more than linkin park if linkin park sucks after 8 platinum's.

any 1 here? i would like peoples opinion on MY NEW STORY<tread name> it is in star wars literature plac catagory <has nothing to do with star wars>

well i have to admit that the remix's on reanimation ( the song you listened to was FRGT/10) arent the best of linkin park...the real best is on there first cd Hybrid Theory

linkin park is my favorite band. all there songs are different in there meaning and you can tell. Each one is about a different emotion that we have prolly felt sometime during our lives. And i have to admit that chester does somewhat sound like chino at times when he screams but that is because when they first started off as a band they would play other peoples music to practice and one of the songs they would play alot was My Own Summer ( Shove It)

Well Chester is probably one of the worst singers out there with his screeching Beavis voice. Their lyrics are boring and repetitive. The music isn't terrible, but its extremely simple. Pretty much every member of the group is a no-talent with the exception of the DJ.

And Big Pimpin'/Papercut with Jay-Z might be the worst song I have ever heard in my life.

They're cry baby nu-metal 😬 I'm not usually a fan of Nu-metal. There are only some exceptions. But god, linkin park 😖 they cant even sing, and most of the instruments are electronic. My 8 year old cousin could hop on the computer and do that 😖 they're to over rated for their own good, its giving them an unnecessary ego-boost

I hate them because they simply do not appeal to me and they annoy me. They seem whiny, no offense to you or any other fan of them.

well its quite alright..i just like debating. im not like a hot-head or nothing like that that would blow up or nothing. I don't know. I think chester has a very good voice. Sure when he wants to be screetchy he can be but if you listen to Papercut at the end when he sings "the sun goes down" , the whole song of easier to run, or from the inside he does have a good regular voice. I dont think they are whiny. They write alot about everyday emotions and what they have felt in the past. And maybe they are whiny but what other band isnt now adays??¿¿ They do have alot of computerized sounds but thats how they make there songs different, apart from the rest. They try to make it so if you heard it you'd automatically know that it is Linkin Park.

Using sampled electronic sounds can be interesting or original. The problem is that they do a shitty job of it. Besides which, they're hardly the only rock band who does that—so do Incubus, Deftones, even SOAD occasionally.

None of the above bands are whiney. I could name a million others that aren't either. Personally I can't stand Chester's voice... especially when he tries to scream.

Every one of their songs is more or less exactly the same -- the same lyrics about how life sucks and how everyones out to get you....even the music sounds the same. It's very tiresome.

To be honest I haven't heard much from them besides one or two songs that I didn't care for, but the singer's voice really does annoy me. Chester had a guest appearance on Handsome Boy Modeling School's album on some 7-8 minute song, which besides his minute and a half of whiny singing was a pretty damn good track, but I rarely listened to it cause I knew that Chester would be singing on it and it just annoys me.

Yeah, the only thing that was worse than Chester's appearance on HBMS was those damn annoying skits but that's for another thread. 😛

Some of their stuff on Hybrid Theory was OK. The rest of it is pretty vomit inducing though.
