Ehhnnnn anything not entish probably looks the same to Ents (except for Elfs & wizards of course).

Oooo so is that why he called him orcs? maybe cuz he saw orcs...and thought the hobbits looked like orcs...or am i just confusing myself like crazy

perhaps just confusing yourself like crazy 🙄

they were smaller than orcs, yet there was an orc with them trying to kill the two hobbits so treebeard must of thought "a team eh"

if he did why didnt he kill them both as well instead of interigating them?

yeah...if he thought they were orcs too, why didnt he just kill them like he did that one? if he thought they were orcs...why did he save them from the other orc? Its all quite confusing!

Tolkien couldnt just let them die, thats my answer

Discos - it always ends back round to the legend big "t"

I know I know, that would be bad if treebeard killed merry and pippin mistaking them as orcs, that woulllldddd be baaaad! lol!

im just all confused!

lol lets leave it at that then

hahahah yes lets! ahhhhhh i cant wait for rotk to come out to buy tomorrow..im going nuts!

The portrayals were flawless...imo

Gimli...Exactly the way a dwarf should look like...john is perfect
the beard is good...the helmet he had looked great as well as the axe's and armour was very dwarven,,, Gimli's speach was awesome. And the way he was potrayed was great

i was quite happy with it all...

but the treebeard thing was a little off, but was a change that wasn't too offensive.

faramir taking them to osgiliath was a bit much... but it was that or not see sam and frodo for half the film...

There was never any way Pete Jackson was going to please everyone. How can you turn a classic like LOTR into a series of films and not piss somebody off. Unless each film was gouing to be 5 hours long bits were going to have to be left out.

Now I do think he made some good and bad choices. Leaving Tom Bombadil and Ghan Buri Ghan were good choices as they were not essential to the plotline. The whole bit where Aragorn falls off the cliff in Two Towers was just like.....'dude, where did you get that idea from.'

On the whole I think Fellowship and Return were the better ones and Two Towers detracted from the story too much.
However if you view them just as a trilogy of films like Star Wars for example and don't compare them to the book, they are f****n awesome. The box office takings and DVD sales prove that.

Thats just my opinion anyway and fot those who don't know me i'm new to the forum, but I definitley like what I see so far.

Smodden has a great point there, Gimli was perhaps the best portrayed character.

Discos- is a odd thing about lordy

i'll just agree cus afta awhile all the writing went to a blur and i coudn't find my glasses to read the rest

I know that it wasn't 100% faithful, but does that really matter? The only part I was dissatisfied with was the way they depicted Sauron as he was in the Second Age.
