USH'S MATRIX GAME FIFTH ASSIGNMENT (COMBAT PATH)- 'Payback'

Started by Bespin Bart60 pages

Cloud is winning! Yipee! Now, if I could attack first at all, I'd be winning too...

And while knives aren't exactly deadly, they are very frame efficient...

Active dodge.

Ares launches his foot up into the air at Tyr's throat with a Kick of the Grasshopper.

(How much ammo does Ares have in his gun?)

A-ha! Once players start to use terms like 'frame efficient', we know things are going well...

Khali rolls +2 for a 17... another hit, and another four damage. I forgot to add on the same from before, so that takes you to 30, as she wounds you again.

Ares, your gun is not loaded. Tyr is using an Unyielding Tiger Stance on that blow, Ares, modified with Hands without Shadow- do you want to dodge yourself?

Burn, Loomis is giggling from behind his pillar.

"What are you firing at, dude?" he says.

Shouldn't Sinister be on 9 damage?

(I was just making sure on the gun)

Ares dodges Tyr's attack with Fox's Retreat.

Great. Now I need a new plan.

(Talk to him, take advantage of his willingness! ✅ )

"Khali, please realize that you are only fighting for your Captain's own selfish ideas," Mors says, somewhat winded. "You need not fight us!"

Fox's Retreat on that grap please Ush

Ok, Ares, your kick rolls -1, and Tyr effortlessly avoids it. His riposte rolls evens, and again, you JUST manage to stay out of the way.

Sinister rolls -8, so that didn't do him much good... you spin out of the way with great ease, Cloud.

Tyr grins, as he now performs a Kick of the Grasshopper, again modified by Hands of Light.

Khali says something harsh to you in Indian, Mors, and spits- before thrusting at your midriff with a Hands of Light Knife strike.

Burn. Loomis breaks cover to flank you, causing another gun exchange. He beats you on the firing roll, and looses off another four bursts from each gun in your direction. He rolls -2 for a 16- a dead-on hit. Still, it is only pillar chips that hit you, for two damage.

Just a question, but...what's Hands of Light? Isn't that a Path?

Fox's Retreat!

San will move forward towards where Mors and Khali are.

Then I will move in the opposite direction he did to flank Him.
Comon I need a good roll!

Fox's Retreat is a definite there.

Err, it is a move as well, just not listed yet. But I MEANT Hands Without Shadow. And Ares, you have insufficient focus for another Fox.

Tyr rolls +3 for a 16... a hit! Ten damage to Ares as Tyr's blow pays off, smashing Ares back into the machinery behind.

San, you didn't actually know they were there, but you can move forwards and see the two of them anyway!

Burn, you skip cover to meet Loomis and exchange fire again. This time, you beat him, and take the shot. How many bursts?

Khali rolls evens, Mors, and you manage to lean backwards below her stab!

Khali eyes San approaching, and speeds her efforts on Mors, making a Venegance of the Butterfly stroke on him, again modified by Hands without Shadow.

Tyr rushes up to Ares and attempts to pound him into the machinery with a Claw of the Tiger.

Meanwhile, still Cloud to go against Sinister.

I'll use Kick of the Grasshopper on him

I gotta give Loomis some damage so 4 bursts

Ares clunks into the machinery with a quiet grunt, then prepares to block Tyr's follow up with Learned Tutor's Block.

Mors bends up from the previous dodge and immediately bends back again (Fox's Retreat).

(Adaptive Ghost Defense would have been handy there...just a note... 😉 )

Oooh, someone is paying attention!

You roll evens, Burn, for a solid hit and eight damage. Loomis spins back behind another pillar.

"Aw man..." he says. "This is my best shirt!"

Sinister once more performs the Learned Tutor's Block; unfortunately, Cloud, you roll a -7, and once more he catches your foot!

Tyr rolls -5, Ares! As you come to sooner than he realised, you catch his fist as it came in towards you!

A -4 from Khali is welcome for Mors.

Sinister then twists Cloud to one side and strikes at your back with a Double Scorpion Hand (+2 to hit), modified by Shaolin Sage Hand.

No relief for Mors, as Khali follows this up with yet another knife strike!

Ares to strike; either a plan from Burn or another set of rolls (also, how many bursts if you get the chance, Burn?)
