USH'S MATRIX GAME FIFTH ASSIGNMENT (PHILOSOPHY PATH)- 'The Reason'

i'll dodge that. also i want to do a "shielded in life", for focus 5
can i do it?

On the defensive? Do you have Forewarned in Life?

"Ugh...man, when are the others gonna get here!!"

Sweep of the Grasshopper on Castor*

no, i don't 🙂
but..i should have had time to take shielded after being hit, no?
if i dodge first, i assume i cant use shielded afterwards

Good question, Castor. They just made sequence 8 with no fights won or lost yet, I am afraid, so it's not coming that soon.

Castor* dodges, but that avails him little as you roll +7, Castor- rather timely! Seven damage to Castor*, and he is sent prone as his legs are rather vigorously removed from under him!

Sorry, Rader, forget about that question; I was thinking of something else. I will do that dodge... Rade* rolls -1. Phew! Else that may have settled things! BTW, if you want to leave a potential Shielded always on, then let me know.

CURRENT SITUATION AT: Sixth Sequence, Frame 7

Suite

Castor: 7/22/4
Rade: 5/30/7

Jericho: 12/3/7
Castor*: 10/17/6 (Prone until frame 3)
Rade*: 3/15/6

Entry/exit corridor

Hephaestus: 7/9/3

Xiao Emo: ?/4/1

-----

Still Heph to go, now also Rade. After Rade's stroke, Jericho is going to go a bit mental, with a Whirling Blade Onslaught on Castor, whilst Rade* will try a Jump of the Grasshopper on Rade.

strength of the tiger.

then, after rade attacks.
UNYIELDING TIGER STANCE on him

Good thinking, Rade! Very handy power, that...

Will you take a dodge against the attack as well? And any modifier on the riposte?

yes...hand without a shadow.
and a doge, ofcourse

Then no dodge from Rade*s.

You roll +4, Rade, which is a hit! For five damage. He rolls -6, and misses by a rather long way...

(Castor and Rade, don't forget about Contemplation of the Tiger/Anger of the Tiger, you'll ignore your impairment and be more likely to hit! And Castor, why the hell did you forget your nunchaku? Hang in there!)

(Interesting...seems like an auto-disengage move, since he rolled crappy and still got away...unless maybe it has something to do with my stats?)

Hephaestus eyes the Xiao Emo warily, then attacks with Jump of the Grasshopper, modified by Hands Without Shadow.

Heph, the Xiao Emo whirls his prepared blades in front of him as you charge- he is performing The Manits Stance, and you get -2 to hit as you try to avoid impaling your own foot. You roll evens... a miss I am afraid, and that was a zero frame power.

CURRENT SITUATION AT: Sixth Sequence, Frame 7

Suite

Castor: 7/22/4
Rade: 1/30/4

Jericho: 12/3/7
Castor*: 10/17/6 (Prone until frame 3)
Rade*: 1/20/3

Entry/exit corridor

Hephaestus: 4/9/Framed Out

Xiao Emo: ?/4/1

-----

Jericho's attack on Castor is still going, and Rade can strike.

Heph, the Xiao Emo finishes this sequence with a twirl of his blades as he attacks with an Embrace of the Mantis.

claw of the tiger on rade*

He'll dodge; you roll +1 and somewhat miss, and he'll finish his sequence with a return Grasshopper Kick of his own.

dodge

Uh-oh! Rade* rolls +4... a hit! That is six damage, Rade, and a death check. You roll evens; a pass.

i assume i can't use shielded, as the new sequence starts...

I'm afraid not- at the moment of impact you have no Focus.

yes..yes...i assumed so. well.....things are looking grim

So far...

Sting of the Mantis: attack your opponent, -2 to defend against
Retreat of the Mantis: auto-retreat?
The Mantis Stance: -2 to attack against
Embrace of the Mantis: ...we'll see...

Heph will not defend.

You need the trigger for Mantis Stance- a zero frame dodge-plus like that would be too good unless it cost a heck of a lot...

Sting of the Mantis I assume you accidentally put as -2 to defend against?

The Xiao Emo rolls evens- a hit! Sorry, Heph- six damage, which is two beyond what Strength +3 from his weapons would do so that should suss out Embrace for you! Frames you two out...
