"Call me simple but what you're offering doesn't quite add up? Go with you ad most likely die, stay here and I get to drink! Forgive me but staying put seems the brighter option for me right now" Edna picks up her drink "cheers!" She takes a swig ready to take her lightsaber with her spare hand if he should make a move.

Balek downs his drink as well.

"Big mistake," says Balek. "Faylar makes deals all the time but I'm not inclined."

He heads towards the door.

"I'll see you again," he says as he is leaving.

"I'll look forward to it" she calls after him. Edna turns back to the bar and beckons the tender. So what do you know about that guy? Come in here a lot?"

"No, only recently," says the bartender. "But he's always cruising the bars and dives of the city, looking for info."

Edna, is must be voyeur monthly, or something, because someone ELSE is watching you now from the corner of the bar. This person is rather more furtive!

"Information about what?" Asks Edna, half listening to himm and half trying to sense what her new onlooker was so intrigued by.

"People Faylar wants taken care of. He's pulled in several dozen in only a few days."

The person has nervously edged his way over toy you now, Edna. He is dressed in the outfit of Faylar's bodyguard (and is actually the same person who was following you, Rex, but he didn;t like the look of you and is gone now!)

"He's not a very nice person," says the stranger in a friendly voice.

"Personal FRIEND of his are you?" Snaps Edna as she turns to face him. "Make a habit of intruding on private conversations?" Edna finishes her drink and thanks the bartender for his help then makes it look as hough she is about to leave, hopig it will make this jerk get to his point!

"You're very beautiful for someone who is supposed to be so evil," says the man. He then looks very embarrassed that he said this. Now you look at him, Edna, he's about your age. Far too young to be one of Faylar's personal bodyguard!

"Balek is no friend of mine, or anyone elses. I can tell you about him. Um. If you want."

Edna turns around, intrigued by this young man. "So tell me why should an evil beauty like myself trust a young man like you in a very poorly chosen fancy dress costume?" Edna guessed she was probably intimidating the poor lad.

"Umm... I'm a man of my word," says the man. "I guess there is not much more I can say than that. Other than that it would be pointless for me to make up lies about Balek." He shifts uncomfortably. "And this isn't fancy dress. It's genuine!"

Clearly more to this one than there looks, Edna. He doesn't have a mind of iron like Balek did but... he's stronger than he looks.

"Ok so spill. What do you know about him? And come to think of it what do you think you know about me? Evil is a strong word. Not to be used lightly. And while you're at it, who do you work for. Really I mean, and what are you hoping to get in return for this information?" Edna is still wary about trusting this guy. Definitely more to him than meets the eye.

"I'm working for Faylar," says Argentis. "For now."

"Balek was never a pleasant man, even in the old days, and he was always dangerous. He was on a planet out on the fringe when a young woman, about your age, took his fancy and he... um... 'took' her. Very violently. Oddly enough, her brother objected and tried to bring him to justice. This was five or more years ago now."

The young man orders a (non-alcoholic) drink from the bar.

"But it wasn't that easy. The planet she was on at the time has a very different culture from what we are used to. She was there on an archaeology field trip, I think. But the planet treats women as property. Not people. So Balek could not be convicted of rape. Instead the authorities ordered Balek to pay her brother 2000 credits comoensation for damaged property."

He drinks.

"Her brother appealed to the Republic, of course, but you know what the Republic courts are like. Slow even when they do decide to get involved, which they didn't. So the sentence stood. Her brother took it very badly. But her brother was also a Jedi."

He drinks again and he seems to find telling this part of the story rather emotional. You would think he was talking about himself, only he would have been pretty young at the time!

"He tracked Balek there and confronted him. And in a moment of weakness, attacked him. In the fight, he cut off Balek's arm with his sabre before he stopped himself. The amusing thing was that Balek was hoist by his own petard. Under the same backward laws of the planet it was ruled that the Jedi had the right to tkae his vengeance for broken propertly personally on Balek. All he had to do was give the money back.

"The Jedi Order was less happy, of course. He has come within an ace of falling. He's had a lot of counselling since then and I understand he is still not allowed off Coruscant.

"Balek got his arm replaced but he's never going to forget what happened. He has an amazing hatred for anyone that carries a lightsabre. And since then he's become one of the finest Bounty Hunters in the Galaxy. He goes for big league stuff. He's never killed a Jedi, of course, but he would love to try. Thing is, he's not stupid. He only ever fights on his own terms, and at the right time. He's heard of how many people you killed on Jaglon Beta. He'll be waiting a good chance with you, now. And the others."

He finishes his drink.

"I just want the same information Balek wanted from you, really," says the man. "That's why I follow him." He looks at you again. "You really are VERY beautiful. I can see why Kuylen likes you." His hand slowly reaches for your hair.

Edna grabs his hand in hers with quick relexes and squeezes his knuckles till they hurt. "Watch yourself! Like you said, I'm evil and a very dangerous girl to be around. Beauty can be a deceptive tool!" Edna releases his hand. "So why you inerested in Kuylen? You two have a hiatory I should know about?"

"Longer than you will ever know," says the man. "Now. Tell me where your Master is.|

"Tell me where your master is PLEASE!" Edna says playfuly, stalling. "Not yet. I've not finished with my questions. You said you were working for Faylar for now... thinking of a change in proffession? Or just in employers? And really what is your interest in Kuylen. I really must know! He doesn't like his where abouts known by just anyone you know!"

"I wish I had time to talk to you all night," says the man, "but I don't. Faylar will miss me if I am away too long. But I MUST get the answer I am looking for." He looks uncertain again. "Such a shame... there must be a nice person in there, buried under all that hate.

"But make no mistake," he says. "I WILL kill you. Killing you is necessary. It is only to my shame that I will let you live IF you tell me where Kuylen is!"

"You shy from hatred as though it is your enemy! You should embrace it and feel how strong it makes you." Edna looks him in the eyes trying to see if he is calling her bluff or actually serious. "Such a shame you're unwilling to cooperate. You want to know where he is and I know but I'll only tell you after answering my questions." Edna smiles at him. "The answer seems simple to me!"

"I'll show you something simpler," says the man, taking two paces back from you. He then reaches behiund his back and whips out a lightsabre. When the blue blade ignites, everyone else in the bar gasps and dives for cover.

"My name is Argentis. And I am a Jedi, like my Master Kuylen before me. And I swear in the name of the Order I will kill you now if you do not tell me where he is!"

Edna stands and admires his stance but thinks twice about igniting her own lightsabre. She keeps enough distance to allow herself time to react. "So you're the apprentice! Yes I can see it now. So much of Kuylen there is in you! We have more in common than I first imagined." Edna raises an eyebrow at his sabre. "Put that thing away. I'm no match for you." That was the truth "And a Jedi like yourself would hardly kill me in cold blood. Besides I am CERTAIN Kuylen will want to see you. Just not RIGHT now!"

Edna, you sense a great conflict in Argentis's mind as he edges his sabre close towards you. Also great confusion.

Something is very wrong with that mind, Edna. It is a mind split and confused and not entirely stable. He's on the verge of falling and if he does there is no telling what he will do.

"I know you are no match for me, But you are a twisted creature oif evil and it is my duty to put you out of your misery. The Dark Side must be destroyed.

"I've given up everything I hold dear to come here," he says. "I've betrayed my friends and the Republic. I did whatever it took to get Faylar to accept me because I KNEW that Kuylen and his dark followers would come here to kill him. All because I am sworn to kill Kuylen myself. After that my life is worthless. Evrerything is gone. I have sacrificed EVERYTHING to find him and I am DAMNED IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO TELL ME WHERE HE IS!"
