Rex, you know a secure place when you see it. This place is stuffed full of so much security you are surprised the ship can move. Booby traps on the floor (Bond-style), auto-turrets in the walls, the fifty armed men around...
You take note of their position. If it comes to a shooting match you are more concerned with finding an escape route than trying to win.
Shareth the Hutt sits on a throne some twenty feet away. She is laughing a long Hutt laugh. They do that.
Edna shoots Gald an irritated look. “Shareth the Hutt. We finally meet. I am sure your time is valuable so I shall come straight to my point. I have come to the conclusion that you have had dealings with our Master Kuylen. Our services obviously do not reach the standards or our master but never the less I am sure that we possess skills that may be useful to you and would therefore like to deal.”
(Shareth's words are transllated for the audience as ever, of course)
"Hmmm..." says Shareth. "Kuylen's people... are these really the feared Dark Jedi that have brough terror to the whole Confederacy?"
Shareth's cronies, on queue, start to give mocking laughs. Shareth waves them to be quiet with a stubby hand.
"Quiet! These people are more dangerous than they look. More dangerous than a childish thug and a young girl, hmm?"
Now her cronies start "Hmmm?"ing as well, keeping the mocking tone.
"So, what makes you think that I would want to deal with people like you? Kuylen was indeed a good mercenary; my kind of being. Fearless and inventive. When he, one of the greatest of the Order, came to me saying he needed sancturary from the Jedi, how could I refuse? But of you people I know little."
"Ahhh, the blockade..." says Shareth. "Very big problem for doing business here, that is. Unless you have acquired the Jedi's clearance code..."
More laughter from the many Shareth lackeys.
"I COULD take you off the planet... but this is a very nice ship. Tickets will not come cheap. And I have a lot of money to be made here. What can you offer me?"
"Faylar's power will be brought to en end soon with or without our intervention. The Jedi are already here and will soon be on his trail. Would you not rather he be killed by us than taken to the Republic diplomats where the sniveling coward will most likely set them on your trail as well. Let us wipe your trail clean and the Republic will leave you be. Faylar fate is already sealed but yours need not be."
Shareth laughs AGAIN. She's a happy Hutt.
"You pitiful fools... the Jedi will not act against Faylar. They have been ordered otherwise. The droid army I am selling to Faylar will make him invincible to defeat unless the Republic intervenes and if they do then I have already been paid and care not.
And my selling droids to people outside the Republic is perfectly legal because the Commerce Guild controls the export laws, with I have complied by. My fate is safe."
"Hmmmmmm..." says Shareth. Then she laughs again, and again everyone else joijs in.
"Very well," she says. "Faylar has been contacting me asking me for the code to activate the bulk of the droids. I was not going to give him that code until I was in orbit but I will risk it for the cahnce to get that gold. I will give your man Gald here the codebox for Faylar and disguise him as one of my own. He can take the codebox for Faylar, and in return ask for the gold I am still owed. Then you will know where the gold is. What happens after that, is up to you, but you do not come back on this ship without the gold. And remember when you give him that codebox he will have a VAST army yo protect himself with. But he won't show you the gold without it. It will be VERY dangerous." Shareth leans forward, horribly.
"Are you up for this?"
"Oh we are up for anything. Gald can handle himself. I have absolute faith in him as does Kuylen."
Edna turns to Gald. "Here is where I must leave you. I have other business to attend to. Good luck. And may the force be with you." Almost as an afterthought edna takes a small device out of her pocket. "Here take this. Carry it on you. I will need to know where you are at all times. I'll be counting on you to lead me to Faylar. And if all goes well I shall be there to watch your back."
Edna turns back to Shareth. "If you will excuse me I have an appointment to keep. Gald will serve you well."
Edna bows and leaves the ship, sneaking past the perimeter guard with her hood up and then heading off to meet Argentis at the position arranged.
You leave behind an almost delirousy happy Shareth behind.
Rex, assuming you have no objections, Shareth will now kit you up for this job. Only problem is you can't carry all your guns with this outfit, so tell me which ons you want to carry, within reason.
Ok, Edna, you can head off to the palace outskirts. You'll need to tell me how you want to do this.
