georgina, you understand cantonese? so cool...
i just understand a little...(which is similar to mandarin)
Yeah, my parents can speak many dialects and I grew up hearing them speak it to each other and other people...Sadly, I can't speak anything but Mandarin lol.
I like Katie
Reading her interviews, I find her to be a very mature, down to earth person. I honestly don't think she's pretty enough for Cho, I had imagined Cho much prettier. However, when they were casting I don't really think the reason they picked her was because of her looks. She said in an interview I watched that the reasons she was chosen was because of her Scottish accent and the fact that she had no acting classes or anything. I must say though, she's got a real nice voice. I also got to see a bit of her acting in a clip where Harry attempts to ask her to the Yule Ball. It was alright, nothing great in my opinion, but we can't expect her to be perfect.
All in all though, Katie as a person is very nice, even if Cho does get a bit irritating in the 5th book. I can't see why all the diehard Dan fans hate her. She's only around for the 4th and 5th book and Dan doesn't even stick with her. If I were a Dan fan, I'd be more worried about Ginny in the 6th book.
If you want someone to really complain about, take a look at the girl whos playing Fleur.

Yes, she does act pretty down to Earth and sweet. Almost too much so. Did you see the short interview during the premiere? She kept on looking down and away from the interviewer. But I find this trait refreshing since most teenage stars act like they're 40. Perhaps that's why JKR wanted someone new to the business, so that they would be genuinely sweet instead of stuck-up like established celebrities.

So I guess it is safe to say that Hermione/Emma Watson is the prettiest girl in the Harry Potter movies so far? But Fleur is not that bad. Ginny, on the hand, is cute, but I really can't picture her kissing Harry/Daniel.

in the clip i think Katie L is really good at acting...(aww thats so cute that harry asked her)
she looks pretty in that dress, i think.
The funny thing is, when I first saw the two infamous, candid photos that first came out (you know, the ones where she is holding a cell phone), I had hoped for her sake and for the sake of the movies that she is a great actress because she didn't appear to look anything like Cho Chang. Actually, I felt that her being an amazing actress was the only thing that could possibly explain why she was chosen. Now, after watching the clips, I don't think her appearance is too unfortunate (this is not to say that she is absolutely perfect for the role; there are definitely many other Asian girls who would be better suited) but her acting, considering that she is now an actress, pretty much sucks in my opinion. She acts way too unnatural especially during the part where she and Harry bump into each other and try to get pass each other at the entrance of the owlery. There is also a movie mistake in that scene. After Cho warns Harry to be careful because the stairs are slippery, she reaches for the rail of the stairs. Then the camera changes angles, and she is no where near that rail and her hands are in front of her. Also, after Harry enters the owlery, he pauses for a moment before deciding to ask her to the ball. So when he turns around to ask she, she should be farther down the stairs than she is.
i find it a BIT unnerving that all this analyzation is happeneing even before watching the whole movie 😖 ah well.again,i reserve judgement til after watching the movie.
and to the people who think we're just die-hard Dan fans who wanna bash her up for getting to kiss him, you're soo wrong.yeah, there are people like that but if you'd actually bothered to read earlier posts you'd get our stand on her being chosen for Cho Chang,,i'm getting tired of repeating it.
not long now!!!

yeah i noticed that she should be further down too.. lol
I think that she is making a large effort, but her scene didnt impress me taht much, but I did like that she tried really hard with teh expressions on her face while talking to harry, but they seemed rather exagerrated and other than that particular scene, in the other scenes, like the warning of teh stairs, there seemed to be no emotion at all. However, the parts where she isnt grabbign the rail or whatever, well, someone shuldhave fixed that, or something, so its not like it has much to do with her in particular. Anyways, before I make an accurate analyzation, i wanan see mroe scenes. all I am saying is that I am not extremly impressed with that particular scene, and i want to see more, she had good effort, but maybe she was nervous or whatever. her loosk arent really a big deal, i mean, whether or ntos he is pretty, because when shes walking around and moving, i dont really concentrate on just her looks like i do with pictures, because tehre is more going on. plus she looks all cutesy and stuff, and i think that they wanted a cho like that, so she has that whole cute and shy thing going on.
