Way to come online from your parents basement to make fun of an actress for playing a character that kisses another character played by your darling Daniel Radcliffe. And just for the record I have no particular opinion on Daniel Radcliffe, Katie Leung, the Harry Potter films, etc. I just think you're all a bunch of losers for hating on a young girl who's doing what she loves. 1. Who cares that she doesn't look exactly like your image of Cho Chang? I can almost guarantee that you will never, ever find an actor that looks exactly like everyone's version of a character. Ever. She's not your character anyway, she's JKR's, so if she looks like JKR's image of Cho rather than yours, then that's going to have to work.

2. She is not ugly. You have seen a grand total of three pictures of her, all of them candid, and you have no basis to judge her looks on. No one will look good in every single picture taken of them. It's a fact of life. Stop ragging on her.

3. So she might kiss Daniel. SO FRIGGING WHAT? He is an actor. She is an actress. If they are supposed to kiss in the movie, they are going to kiss and there's nothing you can do to stop them. It's a screenkiss, for crying out loud. Acting. Not realy. Get it into your head.
Besides, it's not like Dan will ever kiss you. He probably doesn't even know any of you exist, aside from a general "group of fans" perspective. He will never kiss you, nor proclaim his undying love for you, no matter what your mommy told you, so stop being so protective. He doesn't need it, nor does he want it. Get over it.

4. You're all being petty, shallow, and racist. It's sick. No one likes petty, shallow, or racist people. It doesn't make you a "beautiful" person, so why are you doing it? Go do something productive. Soemthing that will make yourself genuinely likeable, which you most certainly aren't right now.

I don't understand how you all can base how pretty she is or judge her looks from a few candid snapshots.
Why do you feel the need to insult a girl whom you have never met or seen on screen? Is it because there is something you don't like about yourself? Does it make you feel better to talk about other people's flaws?

This whole issue seems to based on the fact that there are a few jealous fangirls who wish they could get a part like this. This would probably disgust Dan, too -that there are people so "set" on him that they would bash an innocent actress who may or may not screen kiss him in a film based on books the people are supposed to be fans of.

On the issue of her athleticism- You are aware of something called training, no? This is most likely what they would do if they felt Katie's body didn't look the part enough. They don't just pass random people through to get a part. This isn't American Idol.

Well, /rant, and don't go off at me(or do-if it makes you feel better) because I really don't care what you think.

Actually, most actors have to go through some kind of training to fill a part. Some of it is even gaining weight that's far beyond what they should gain in a small amount of time.

If you haven't noticed most actors and actresses look very horrid in their pictures when they aren't wearing make-up. This is because the make-up artists are good and the life they lead wears on them. If I'm not mistaken years back there was a fuss about John Travolta because he had to gain a lot of weight for a part then a month or so later be in another movie which he had to lose a lot of weight for.

So I'm certain that Katie, who I think is a very beautiful girl, will be in good shape for the movie and you need to keep in mind Seekers have to be small and lithe, which most Chinese are, so they can maneuver well, so I think her build fits a Seeker well.

Well it's obvious that this thread was started by a group of little girls who have yet to hit puberty. It's also very sad to see such hatred for another stranger all because they're are insanely jealous that they are not her. It's also very discouraging to see that they have blurred the line between fantasy and reality and have forgotten that Harry Potter and Cho Chang are only fictional characters created by a very creative and inspiring woman.

I won't go into how childish all of the Katie-haters are, as it's already been pointed out by the more mature users who have posted. I will say however that I am very disappointed, and can only hope that such bigots, hypocrites, and immaturity is not a common trait among young girls with internet access, and you lot are of a small and few group.

No matter how many times the love calculator gave you 100% Those things are just for amusement in case you hadn't guessed. They are very much like the world of Harry Potter and all of it's inhabitants. Fiction, i.e. not real!

Harry. Potter. is. a. fictional. fantasy.book. which. was. created. by J.K. Rowling. All. of. the. characters. came. from. inside. her. head. The. films. based. on. the. books. are. (amazingly) also. fictional.

Katie has not killed your family, and nor has she stolen your boyfriend. She is probably a lovely girl, who it has been stated by her father, has seen these sort's of comments and all the hate sites, and is feeling an immense ammount of pressure.

I personally must say I admire her strength to carry on filming when so many people who are obviously sharing a single brain cell are all ragging on her for no apparent reason.

Katie Leung looks fine. There is nothing wrong with her nose. It adds to her beauty.

As to her body type, it really doesn't matter. As someone before me mentioned, there is a wondrous thing called training and preperation for a part. Did you really think Orlando Bloom could fire an arrow, or ride a horse like that before LotR's? No he didn't. He trained for the part, and prepared.
Rennee Zellweger had to put on weight for the part of Bridget Jones, in Bridget Jones Diary. She then had to lose it again for another part.

Also pbloom, JKRowling is not in the industry because of her looks. It is purely her mind we are interested in, and the little people inside of it who are giving her such wondrous idea's for books. Harry Potter is not a success because of some "Fantasy" craze as you called it. Harry Potter was around well before any craze set about. The fanbase was there long before any craze's. It just happened that by the time GoF was released, there had been an uproar in publicity, and so it's popularity soared.

My post's are not directed at anybody who is sensible, and actually has a viable reason to dislike a person. (This means they have seen them act, have met them, and they disliked them for one reason or another. Please don't think I'm including you if you dislike Katie for a petty reason such as she's going to be in a film on the big screen. Shock Horror that somebody can actually have a bit of luck allowing them to get that chance) Everyone is of course entitled to their own opinions, so just know that this is mine, and no matter how much bitching you do to me, I will take it all collect it, and then send it all straight back with interest. I also am quite sure that if the casting directors did not see something in her, she would not have been hired. Not to mention the important thing is how she acts, which, as of yet, we don't know.

Acters aren't hired just because they ACT, it's because they're good at it and fit the part. And no matter how much you think she doesn't fit the part of Cho, she obviously does fit it to a degree, she's gotten it.

So stop whining because you're not in a movie. Try harder, if that's what you want to happen. But don't waste time whining about someone else who's ship finally came in. She probably deserves that part and if she does suck in the movie I'll gladly admit it and eat my top hat.

So you're saying the only reason you hate her is because you're jealous of her because she got her big break and you're still waiting for yours? No offense, but that's not a good reason for jealousy, especially not jealousy to the point of hating someone. By your logic, you should hate every celebrity because of your jealousy. Or at least every child star. You say that you act, and I know how cutthroat the theatre and film industries are, but this jealousy between 'unknown' actors and 'new known' actors is becoming much too widespread. Just because someone lands a role in a movie doesn't mean they're going to be a hollywood star the rest of their life. Everyone wants fame, and (I believe) all actors secretly either want to be on film or on broadway, but only the best/luckiest actually make it, and those of us who don't need to realise that life isn't fair, and we need to get over it. Certainly girls who pretend they're all cool because they act whilst being insanely jealous of any rising star on the scene don't have what it takes to make it in the big bad world of filmaking, where they might reject you simply because you wear the wrong size of shoes.

To all Katie haters: I'm very certain that Katie was chosen by the casting directors for a reason, and any opinion the fans might hold is null and void and probably insignificant. So stop whining, because what's past is past, and filming's already too far underway for any of your petty angry wishes to come true.

If you have a problem with people who actually support Katie typing their opinion, then fine. If you have a problem with several people agreeing, and typing the same thing that other's have typed then you are a hypocrite. You have all made almost 8 pages with of people having the same opinion. Almost every post before us, were saying the same thing, "Katie is ugly", "She has a flat nose", "She doesn't deserve the part of Cho", "Dan is my man".

People are allowed to have the same opinions as others, so stop getting upset because people don't agree with you.

I agree with azsapphire. You can act. Great! So can lot's of other people in this world. It's a very popular business. If you want to act, and show how much better than Katie you are, stop wasting your time dissing her, and go and get yourself an agent. Work towards your goal. All your doing here is participating in an argument, which is purely made up of people's opinions. It has no basis on fact, except that Cho is going to be played by Katie Leung, and there are now fans of her, and also haters of hers.

My goal here is not to make you agree with me. I also have no clue if she will be an excellent Cho, or if I will like her as that part. I however have no reason to hate her for this, and therefore am not wasting my time creating hate sites, and hate listings. I only wish to try and make you stop dissing her until you have actually seen her act, and have more evidence for your arguments than a few candid pictures.

Katie is my age, and I know the stuff that she has to deal with because of normal life at this age. She does not need to deal with the fact that a lot of people on the net hate her simply for turning up to an open audition just on a whim.

Katie obviously has a natural talent for acting, because she has never acted in a school play or anything before this according to her father. The casting people would not give the part to someone who looks perfect, but couldn't act for scrap.

OK i dont hate the girl and i've never seen her acting but i am envious of her! Shes got the part, she gets to appear in a blockbuster!!!!

And she might not be totally gorgeous because not everyone is (lets admit) but maybe she'll look really cool as Cho. She does have a young look but who knows....she might be really good....so until the movie comes out maybe people shouldnt write so many nasty things however we shouldnt totally block the truth out!
