Pistios or L.A.

Which bandwagon are you talking about? the Pistons? yea, im sure there are even some Laker "fans" that have started rooting for Detroit already. its pathetic really.

I'm done on the Jordan/Kobe topic. i'll pick it up in a couple of years, see where Kobe is going with his career.

Obviously Scottie os NOT Shaq, but he wouldn't be one of the 50 greatest if he sucked. and that season where Jordan went to play baseball, Scottie took over the team, he just wasn't a leader, that's why they lost so much. Pippen averaged like 19 or 20 points a game that season.

this is getting ridocolous......1st kobe is nly 26 and jordans career is over....cobe has at least 10 or 9 good possibly great years left in him so why dont we wait till kobes career is over with just the fact that he's only 26 and you/media are already comparing him to jordan says it all

2nd....certain people need to get off the pistons bandwagon (i'm talking about the people who are just now posting and have been a member for months)...

3rd...this was too link about dumars he was one of the bad boys 2nd best defendor after rodman... in the bad boys hey day he totally took jordan off his game....his hands and feet were the quickest in the league and he never bit on any of jordans fake which cozed a ton of trouble for jordan....jordan could beat him off the dribble but when jordan drove into the lanehe was hammerd by laimbeer, mahorn, rodman, or sally so jordan

yes...Jordan never had Shaq.

Jordan never had another great player around him--argue what you will about Scottie, he wasn't grea; just look at the year that Jordan took off for baseball, look at Scottie's numbers.

I agree with the Kobe isn't as good as Jordan argument, but Pippen was great. When Jordan left the Bulls that year, you say look at the numbers. But that team was expected to do aweful without Jordan and Pippen still led them to a good record and a decent playoffs.

I love L.A, though I can't stand Bryant. He tries to do to much. I mean, he's good and all, but some of the shots he takes are just plain terrible. He does make them when he needs to though so that's the good side of it.

Just to clarify.

I know Dumars was a great defender, but he was physically not able to keep with Jordan all day. Like you said, Jordan can beat him off the dribble. Kobe has a lot of difficulty getting around Prince, and he is almost incapable of shooting over him. Put Prince on Jordan in his prime and i bet he does just as well as Dumars if not better.

I never said Pippen wasn't good. I just said that he wasn't Shaq. Shaq requires the ball fed to him in order to score. Scottie Pippen scored 1001 different ways. His defense one on one, in the lane, and in transition were phenominal. He scored by moving around, cutting, and hitting open jumpers. He didn't require the ball nearly as much as Shaq does. That is why Jordan was sooooooo dominant. Stick Jordan on Shaq's team and his numbers wouldn't be as high, but they'd win more championships.

this is an argument never of is gonna win for obvious reasons prince is lengthy and dumars is quicker but if i had to pick one i would definetly take dumars

but Prince IS deceivingly quick. All his short career he's always be said to "make it look effortless."

I'd take Prince over Dumars against Jordan.

yea i know prince is quick when i said dumars was quicker i was talking about his hands and feet...he could beat jordan to the spot and deny him the ball which meant jordan never got to spot him and use his fadeaway.....prince is no doubt a good defendor but neither of us will know if he would bit on jordans pump fakes...dumars never did

I just assume that he wouldn't bite on them because he doesn't come close to jumping on Kobe's...

Personally I believe Jordan's pump fake to be much better than Bryant's, but I dunno if it's good enough to make Prince jump.

Some food for thought. This is the crunch time (clutch time) points from Nestle at NBA.com for the 2004 playoffs. I don't see Kobe anywhere on there which is surprising.

Nestle Crunch Time Rating
The Nestle Crunch Time Stat was designed by the NBA and Nestle to provide an innovative way to measure "Crunch Time" performances -- players who step up when the game is on the line! A formula has been created to measure the top Nestle Crunch Time players, and the formula kicks in when Crunch Time kicks in -- the last two minutes and all overtime periods.

Here's the formula:

(PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK) - ((FGA - FGM) + (FTA - FTM) + TO) + 4 points if their team wins

Note: If the point differential of the game is greater than 15 points at the two-minute mark, only the losing team's players will be eligible to earn Crunch Time points.

Sorry that the chart itself looks disorganized, it did that when I did a copy and paste.

this is what he is talking about: http://www.nba.com/features/nestle/crunch_time_stat.html

Yep. I guess I should have just done that.

well that helps explain the Lakers sucking....

the pistons own that list

Yup. They own the Champs

Did u see one of the fans signs?
It said "Lakers have Superman. Pistons have Kryptonite." A perfect sign for this series.

hell yea i saw the sign..ther was another one that was just as good in game three that said our full house (it showed the starting 5) beats you pair (shaq and kobe)

i think the best part is Shaq and Kobe's press conferences after the game. They were so non-chalant about the loss, it's like they think it was only game one. I hope they don't think they can just turn on the switch this late in the series.

Their arrogance has really gotten on my nerves this season compared to any other LA season I've ever watched.
