Try watching anime other than DBZ. There are characters out there who are far more powerful than Goku. People like Lina from Slayers who can kill Goku with a thought; or even a character like the Kyubi from Naruto, Akira, SDK characters, are all more powerful.
just go back a page or two for more examples.

Lina couldn't, but LoN could. Kyuubi has got shit on Goku. If you mean Akira from the anime/manga of the same name, then yes, he could win, but SDK characters lack the range, flight, and destructive abilities to win. There are a lot of ways for them to really **** Goku up if they got him in the right position to be susceptible to their techniques, but Goku fighting intelligently would not be in that position.

Yeah, that's true. But I'd still say that DBZ contains the best fighters (to my limited knowledge), although they aren't the most powerful beings.

Shizuma Kusanagi is probably a better fighter than they are. Z Warriors might be some of the most powerful martial artist but they aren't really they best martial artist.
Shizuma Kusanagi is from Real Bout High School. Iirc the anime doesn't do him much justice but he's really skilled though he's a street fighter. Course all the chicks in the Shinsengumi in Real Bout High School are really skilled too.
The Hokutoshinken/Nantosaken people are from Fist of the North Star/Hokuto No Ken.
Yakumo Mutsu I'd say is even more skilled than the Z fighters.
I hate the anime of Real Bout High School. It's extremely different. And my favorite person doesn't appear in it.
Eh, DB fights showed a lot more skill than Z fights usually do but even then I still think fight scenes of meta or street level people end up showing off more skill than even DB fights did. Air Master has some pretty awesome fight scenes. And the things in Shura No Toki are just more impressive imo.

Someone like Mitsuomi Takayanagi from Tenjho Tenge could beat that Shizuma dude you mentioned 😛
