i love it at first , but then .... 😠 it sucked!!

Of course the ending was going to suck. It had been so good all along, there was no way it could end in any manner close to satisfying.

Though I had grown wary of Ellis after his piece of crap Ultimates/Ultimate X-Men mini-series, his Iron Man is very good.

who was the killer?

Jean Lorring, the Atom's ex-wife.

i knew it... that bi*ch had it in for her the whole time...

imo the whole mini-series sucked

it was an interesting angle, but in the end they didn't have the balls to make it really interesting...

Yeah. So go pick up New Invaders. With the freaky as hell vampire baby.

i dont buy comics, i have them on my pc...

then put that sweet stuff on the d/l list.

yeah i got blood 1 and 2, pretty good stuff, everyone looks the same though, it really confuses you sometimes, for example when they draw union jack without the flag on his shirt im confused as all hell, i spent most of the time just trying to find out which character is which....not a good series to jump into if you dont know the characters too well

Yeah, that was my only gripe with it. The art was making great strides, but then it kind of tapered down a bit. A good inker and colorist could have probably saved it all, but alas.

Jacobsen did a great job with Aubrey, he could have easily turned Aubrey into just "the token gay", and though he is gay, it's not the basis of his character at all, it's just a fact of life. I was very surprised to see him use growing powers.

For those uninitiated, Aubrey and his... future boyfriend, Brian Falsworth (the original Destroyer and later Union Jack II) had been captured by Nazi's in WWII. They had been experimented on, each recieving Nazi Super Soldier Serum knock off, a little less potent than Rogers' because they hadn't unlocked the secret of vita-ray bombardment. It had a strange side effect in Aubrey, causing him to shrink to about an inch I believe, though he retained all the stamina and strength of a full sized man. He went on to fight crime as Dyna-Mite with Falsworth taking up the name the Mighty Destroyer. Later following an incident with Thor, Falsworth's serum reacted with the Uru hammer's magic giving him the ability to shoot bolts of electricity from his finger tips (as the serum was unstable and prone to mutagenic side-effects).

Falsworth and Aubrey were rescued, Falsworth went on to claim the title of Union Jack after his father, the original Union Jack suffered a paralyzing accident. He went on to join the Invaders alongside Cap, Namor, Human Torch and his sister Spitfire. Aubrey was left behind, and later cured of his diminuitive size by some of the advanced scientists during the war. He later took up the discarded mantle of The Destroyer, fought alongside the Invaders a bit, but never joined for personal reasons. Helped to found the V-Battalion, and after Falsworth's death in the 50's he hardened his resolve and turned the V-Battalion into one of the most formidable organizations the world has ever seen, saving the world from threats that the Avengers and FF would have trouble with many years later. (interesting side-note: Nathaniel Richards and Tony Stark's father were important members of the V-Battalion later on and helped to form much of it's advanced technology systems)

As it stands now, the 70-something year old Aubrey has the SS serum still coursing through his veins, giving him the faculties of a man half his age. An accomplished gymnast, acrobat, fighter and soldier he kicks mucho ass. He also has little seen shrinking powers, a hold over from his Dyna-Mite days. My guess is the reason we haven't seen him use these much (aside from the fact that no one had the idea to let him utilize growth changing before Jacobsen) is that he has some psychological scarring from his time as Dyna-Mite (with the war experiments, Nazi death camps, etc.) and only uses it in times of great distress.

he wasnt really in great distress when he was attacking those axis mundi guys, everyone pretty much had it planned out, but it was a cool little bonus to see him running right beside the vampires then grow and shoot 'em down...the penciler could've portrayed it better imo

i dont like how he portrayed the vampires, all they do is walk around with their mouths open and their hands in the air

i agree with you on aubrey and his homosexuality, not going the way of northstar in uncanny was a cool switch up, and the gimps that came up to him looked hilarious

Well, perhaps not great distress, but just in a pissed off and stressed out mood. They were outnumbered, and the life of Spitfire was on the line, and they are particularly close. But 'twas cool. I only wished they had a different penciler for stuff like that, and a better inker--as sometimes the colors of their uniforms change from panel to panel making it difficult to follow. With a good art team, this book would be so kickass.

So mail into Marvel and tell 'em!

lol, the penciler didnt portray aubrey's size very well in an "action" way....the coloring i think is great and i thought the clothes switched colors due to lighting of the area the characters were in

overall its a good comic, the action portrayal is pretty good but could be done a little better, the inking and coloring are good, and the stories are great.....i spend a few minutes staring at the characters when they're not in uniform, the letterer should really put their names above each balloon in small print lol, itll create less confusion

....im kidding of course no one would ever do that

The current run of Teen Titans for me.

This month's Alpha Flight was pretty good. Stuff actually happened and we're getting some characterization for the new team. Too bad Lobdell had to dick around so much in the begginning that he completely disenfranchised his readership. Oh well.

lol, doesnt sound too good

i've got mk spiderman and ultimates2 #2 to read.....i hate the fact its called "ultimates2", its about as confusing as "new xmen" when talking of it with friends

which marvel knights spiderman?
