Sales aren't what they could be. I've heard from the writer that Marvel plans to keep using it's Golden Age characters, and they have plans for the Invaders, but at the moment fan reaction isn't as strong as it could be. The first couple issues sold well, but I think the different art and coloring style alienate a lot of people.

its a good comic, maybe they'll get lucky and have a well-known artist in the mix...i love the art in it atm but i guess the majority doesnt

Im currently reading (in order of preference):
GreenLantern:rebirth
Lucifer
Witchblade
Cable/Deadpool
Fantastic 4
John Constantine:Hellblazer
Ultimate X-men
Uncanny X-men
X-Men

and am starting to collect:
Wonder woman
JLA
X-23

I might drop ultimate x-men, as it was good at first, but is starting to get boring. I was thinking about dropping x-men, but they are getting a new writer soon, so i might give it another chance.
I was wondering whether or not I should start collecting JLA in the middle of a current story-arc, but I got the current issue, and it was better than I expected. Then ending is cool, with ultraman (dressed as superman) goes mad and kills hundreds of journalists and other civilians and is saying how good it makes him feel.
I read this months lucifer a few days ago (as a full preview), and that looks rather good as well.

maybe they'll get lucky and have a well-known artist in the mix

Thats probably all they would need. And some covers by Jae Lee or someone. He was just signed exclusive to Marvel, and the past couple months with Alex Ross covers on JSA, it bumped up its sales slot bumped up 7 positions. Some Ross Invaders covers would be great, he says he likes the Golden Age and original Invaders, but doesn't like the direction of the new series. Oh well, old hoagy.

lol, screw ross then....theres gotta be someone else willing to make covers or take up the rest of the comic

i noticed the penciler in new invaders changes his style every now and then heheh, the latest issue for example, the wolverine tie-in, is drawn a little differently than the others

It was a different artist lol. Jorge Lucas did a fill in for issue 6. I think C.P. was getting married or having a kid or something, because on another board, the writer Allan remarked that Smith was taking the month off for personal reasons, "but they're good personal reasons, so I'm happy for him" or something like that.

Over at milehighcomics.com they have a full preview of Young Avengers up (I think they might be missing the last couple pages, but oh well) and it was pretty good. Love the art, and the writer has a good handle on the characters all ready.

i thought it was the same penciler, it looked like his art but just with really bold outlining, oh well, i liked it heh

sweet, im gonna go check that out

YES! GHOST RIDER!

http://www.newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26096

Garth Ennis is writing a new Ghost Rider mini in September, with Clayton Crain (Venom and Carnage) on art detail. Garth Ennis writes some of the most despicable human beings, so seeing him get to play around with demons will be great. I love his stuff.

Ennis is a real creapy looking dude too..if you've seen his picture...he looks like he has a whole hell of a lot of skeletons in his closet...Somebody ought to do some background checks on him over at Marvel..He's gotta be guilty of something..

Yeah, oh well, he writes one hell of a sadistically enjoyable story.

Well, Alan Moore looks kinda creepy too...

But I love the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comic.

And Watchmen.

I know it's not recent, but I just bought a few graphic novels/TPB's, and they are awesome. THey were:

Crisis on infinite earths (I adnt read it before. Better than i had expected for such an old series).

DC/Marvel Crossover Classics IV (parallax/thanos/kyle/SS, ect)

Green Lantern:Circle of Fire (the 5th back issue Green Lantern TPB's I bought, and one of the best GL ones, although I still havn't seen any copies of the 'power of ion' TPB)

Also, I am buying the back issues of the DC1million series in individual form from the local market comic store. THey have most of the series, but not all of them.

Back issues/TPB's i want to get:
Green Lantern😛ower of ion
Kingdom COme
Superman Red/BLue
JLA/Avengers Hardcover
Lucifer: The Divine COmedy
Lucifer:Inferno
Little Endless Storybook
Green Lantern/Spectre: Day of Judgement
Green Lantern: Willworld
Death of Superman
Return of Superman
Superman:Blood of my ANcestors
Superman:Godfall
Secret Wars
Infinity Quest
Marvel:The End
Thanos😖amaritan (already own first 2 issues)
Cable/Deadpool
F4:Hereafter
Preacher:Alamo
AOA
Amalgams
Zero Hour (already own issues #1, #0)

The end isssue and conclusion of the recent captain marvel run (are the only ones i am missing)
all of DC 1million comics
all of the 'zero-month" comics

I have decided to stop collecting:
Ultimate X-men (stupid storyline)
X-Men (i was thinking about dropping it a few months back, and am dissappointed with the new writer)
Hellblazer (it's just getting quite boring and predictable)

So now I am collecting (in order of preference):
GL:Rebirth
Lucifer
Fantastic 4
X-23
Witchblade
Cable/Deadpool
JLA
Uncanny X-men

which x-men are you talking aboot eleven.. with the new writer???

Regular adjectiveless X-Men, Austen just left, and Milligan (from X-Statix) is now on board.

Milligan probably can do pretty good job...

It's pretty good so far.

Austen is GONE YAY!!!!

💃 💃 💃 💃 💃 💃 💃

We gonna party all night LONG!

It's kind of bland so far, but better than Austen, and we're only one issue into his run, so there's still a way to go. An improvement at any rate.

"Blankets" by Craig Thompson is by far my favorite comic book. Ever.

Wow. Just wow. Garth Ennis writes the best Punisher ever. Not only Punisher, but Nick Fury. It's the grittiest, nastiest, and most innaprorpiatly hilarious stuff I have ever read. In the one out this week, Punisher #17, *minor spoilers now* Nick Fury gets pissed off, takes off his belt, and proceeds to beat the shit out of a top U.S. general.

Is that the Marvel Max Punisher?
