Invaders was, as always, great this month. The past couple issues had been okay, but it felt like something was missing. This month it's great. Mostly back story for Thin Man, bu enough action mixed in to make it enjoyable. Thin Man is one sick puppy. Too bad the New Invaders, as we know it, is gone after issue 9. That's what you get when you don't promote a book, or give it a reknowned art team, you douche Quesada.
Stormbreaker: The Saga of Beta Ray Bill #3.....
AWESOME.
Beta Ray Bill is one BAD M*THERF*CKER!!!!!!!
He takes Galactus' herald Stardust's axe/spear and hammers it
through the dude's body after telling him to "Shut Up Already!"
I've always liked BRB, but this is one awesome series.
Non-stop cosmic beat-down action.
Bill goes up against Stardust AND Galactus in the first issue alone.....
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Ultimates Vol 2 #4
Lotta stuff going down in this issue!
It's crammed with details of future plots and stuff....
Hank Pym working on Ultron, Captain Britain and the
European Super Soldiers......
The beginning of the showdown between
The Ultimates & European Super-Soldiers versus Thor!!!!!
Great Reading!!!!!
New Invaders #8, penultimate issue to the series as it currently runs.
Cap, the real Cap, comes to take over the Infiltrator.
Thin Man...surrenders it to him?!
Cap leads the Invaders against a group of supremacist Atlanteans trying to fullfill an ancient prophesy...with nuclear payloads?!
Blazing Skull picks his skeletal nose...and is a licensed attorney in both Guam and the Phillipines.
The Red Skull reaches out from beyond the grave.
And there's dissention in the ranks....

Lol, that was a great scene.
I'm going to miss this series a lot, it's very well written, by virtue of it feels real. Yes, it's a comic, it's not actually real, but Jacobsen doesn't skirt around issues, or hide them, they're out there. War crimes happen "they killed everyone, but not before the women had been raped, and the men gelded". No cautious hinting, it's in your face: for example Roger Aubrey's sexuality. The opening scene has him and his partner at a Gay Pride festival, and the scene worked, it wasn't awkward. Merrano is a sadistic rapist pervert, "don't kill the women, we shall be here awhile longer, and must have something to do" "as I remember, my daughter's kisses always tasted sweet" "I will be in my tent, an urge has come over me" *after picking up a captive*. Warrior Woman was an unforgiving butch lesbian: "stand still while I unman you Briton" "lets see if you're man enough to fill Captain America's boots". Not everyone likes Captain America! What a novel idea! And it's not just in a periphery angle, "arg! the flag waver! we hate him, but he's defeated us again, crap! I hate that patriot!" No, Thin Man is actively messing with his mind, and fomenting rebellion against him with Admiral Noble.
The book is real in the way people deal with their situation, there is good and there is bad, and they don't sugar coat the details. Thin Man, once one of the dorkiest characters I could ever have thought of, has been transformed into the epitome of deprivation...but he's a hero! There are bad guys and good guys, but it's a hardline to draw, as the grey area increases, and the title of "hero" or "villain" is replaced by "soldier", specifically a soldier who does what he, or she, must to see through with his, or her, agenda.
