Probably not a villain but rather just another obstacle in Peter's life. What I see coming from his character in Spider-Man 3 is the same thing we saw from Harry in Spider-Man 2 where John just might end up helping one of the villains and at the same time still have some conflicts with Peter.
More From Sam Raimi on Spider-Man 3

FilmStew.com talked to "Spider-Man" franchise director Sam Raimi who says Spider-Man 3 will concentrate more on further developing the last two films' stories:
With two stories under his belt and a divergence from the comic books now clearly delineated, Raimi is looking more now to wrap up the strands of the first two movies than remain tied to Stan Lee’s original narratives. "I think the audience has been tracking this love story with Mary Jane Watson [Kirsten Dunst] and Peter Parker, and now they're together. The way they got together and the reality of the movies is slowly becoming more dominant of a guiding force than the books, just because so many unique things have been set up in the movies that have now got to be completed in the third part, that there's a demand to do that."

Ok im new at this forum, I have loved every Spiderman movie that has come out so far, looking forward to the next one with much aticipation, What i would like to see is harry as Hobgobblin, because in the spiderman2 he is already set up, I mean they cant just forget about that, he has a vengance to deal with with spiderman since part 1, so they have to get him at least down and out. That would give them enough time to show JJ son going into space and set up for SM4. I dont know like i said, but i think this would make alot of people happy, with the setting up Venom, also it will rack them in more money. I mean who wouldn't want to see what happens between harry and spiderman, i know i cant wait.
As much as I would love to see Venom and Carnage in Spiderman 3 I dont think they will. Maybe The Lizard and/or The GG. THe reason I say these characters is b/c at the end of spiderman 2 harry finds his dads GG costume. Also in the movie we are introduced to Dr. Connor who yet becomes the Lizard. Though a movie with Shocker, Sandman, Venom, Carnage, Rhino, etc.

John does become the Man-Wolf. Could be possible.
Extremely doubtful. 😉
I don't think Sam will be using ANY kind of werewolves in the upcoming film because lately werewolves have been overdone by Hollywood (Underworld, Van Helsing) which is why they even dropped them from Blade 3.
i think that the comis are soooo much better than the films. they miss out loads of details and the acting isnt even that great. the films only make it big because of all the great special effects. (i am not cussing spiderman, only expressing an opinion. if you dont agree with my opinion then ignore it)
Well the comics will always be better, but through no fault of the film crews or anyone else for that matter.
The comics get unlimited issues of comic books at about 30+ pages each to fully illustrate the stories, plots, drama, characters, etc. so if they don't have time to do all of this in a few issues then they always have more months and years to do so. On the other hand a film only gets 3 hours max and 2 hours average to illustrate the story, plot, drama, characters, etc. there for the comics will always be more interesting because you get more time to really get into the characters and story than you do with one film or a few films.
Yet, it's so damn cool to see your favorite characters on the big screen! [/B][/QUOTE]
It totally depends. Some projects should never have been taken on. IE: Daredevil, the Hulk, Elektra. Why? In the case of Daredevil, they threw out the book and just winged it.. that sucks, also with the Hulk, you can only go CGI to really bring the character to the screen, large and in charge, and finally on Elektra, they based it off a flawed adaptation from the Daredevil movie. If the producers keep the writers and creators in the loop, then I agree it can be fun to see them on the Big Screen. 😎
