It was ok. Nothing new although there are a few things that concerns me.1- Brad Pitt should never have played the part.
2- Orlando Bloom should have put up more of a fight against that fatty.
3- Sean Bean didnt do enough.
4- Wars were too short and sword stabs/slashes were dragged out.
5- Music was stolen from gladiator. (thats not really a bad thing but it was too similar.)
6- They did not emphasize who was the bad guys. Brad Pitt was too much of a good guy when he was the evil one really. Coz everyone backed Troy rather then the Greeks. But apart from that. It was ok although they should have released it laster on this year when LOTR and Last Samurai and stuff were out the way.
Erm...imma disagree.
1- Brad Pitt did a damn good job, i recon. He was good for the part.
2- Orlando bloom sucks anyway, and as for the fight, he was doing what he was told, he couldnt exactly ignore the script and go all heroic.
3-Sean Bean didnt have a lot of dialog or anything, but what he did have, he was sooooo awesome.
4- hmm..i didnt like the fights anyway 😬
5-I I highly doubt they stole the music, or Hans Zimmer wuld sue
6-There were no 'evil' 'good' guys 😖 not even in the original story
yeah. i thot the movie was great. but i hated paris. ugh. i had a friend who went to go see the movie just to see orlando bloom - erm, well, i don't think she liked it too much
i liked the fact that there weren't any "evil" and "good" guys. i thot it made it a more "human" movie. cause, in real life, there are two sides to every fight. an, whichever side ur on u think (usually) is the "good" guys, but does that make the other side the "bad" guys? no.
yeah, i kno. i was like, i kno who's gonna die and all and i knew achilles was gonna
Spoiler:, so i was like "ok he's not as good as he seems and
murder hector and like drag his body behind his chariot and stuff
Spoiler:so don't get attatched to him, but i couldn't help it. despite the fact that he was like a "ruthless killer" he was very likable, i thought. an so was hector. i was sad when
he's going to die
Spoiler:
he died
damn those spoilers are a bother!

Ok firstly Sean Bean was the coolest.
Secondly, ok a story is a story but either way stories can be changed to get hollywood $$$.
and Thirdly. If its a war film theres always a bad side and a good side. The ORKS in LOTR probably had familys, and had a nice house in a decent cave but nooooooooo lets let the white man (excuse me) the men, elves and dwarfs to kill us all. Or in last samurai, the japanese army were not bad people but were considered to be bad guys anyway coz they were 'against the heros' who was orlando bloom coz he had true love and stuff.

ok, i'm sorry, but if it bothers u that much, than don't f*cking watch the movie!!! i mean, come on!!!! no one is making u watch them! let the people who appreciated the movie, or at least had logical explanations and good arguments for not liking the movie, talk about it in peace!!! i mean, it's one thing if you're greek and it bothered u, or what someone said about the Romeo and Juliet thing, but "corrupting and wrecking great works of literature?" give ME a break!!! it really wasn't as bad as all that. personally, i thot they did an excellent job making the movie entertaining, dramatic, and somewhat close to the "facts". but, if you're gonna come here to bash movies with no reasonable eplanation and some lousy, insulting argument like that, that's gonna make people mad.
You just have accept the fact that some of us don't like what is being done to the Classics of literature. Troy for me it was a terrible idea and a bad movie. I'm sure if you were to look at one of my favorite movies (QT films, horror, or Sci-fi) you'll prolly hate them! I have no problem with that. That's your taste. I don't feel this movie is interesting or entertaining. Simple as that.
I am a huge fan of ancient litererature and history, so I was really looking forward to this movie. I thought it was alright, and that's all.
I thought the cinematogrphy could have been better, that it could hav flowed better, and I was really hopping that Pitt was up to the challenge ( I acknowledge that by saying that that mr. Pitt's minions will now attact me). I think the essence of Achilles didn't come through in the movie.
However, I thought that Brian Cox, Peter O'toole and Eric Bana were awesome. The only moment in that movie that I personally feel was worth remembering was when Hector was going off to fight Achilles.
Bana gave Hector's character depth, and it would have been great to see Pitt do as comparable job to Hector's counterpart Achilles. Hector should be the character that we all aspire to be, where the traits that appear in us and that we see in Achilles should embarass us.
Just a humble opinion.

yeah, look, i'm really sorry about how i blew up like that. i wasn't thinking an i was tired of people saying how much the movie sucked. well, no, i was tired of people saying "the acting was bad, the lines were stupid, i hate all the actors, the fights looked fake...blah blah blah." see, if u have a good reason, then i can understand where you're coming from. an ur right, i have no room to talk cause i've seen some movies i haven't liked and other people have...u're right, its tastes and opinions. so, i'm sorry about all that i said. i was reacting to those people who are just dissing the movie for no particular reason, but i'm kinda embarrassed now. 😮 🙁
p.s. olando bloom was in the last samuri???? well, at least, that's what it sounded like Aku said...???
p.p.s. the orcs did not have families and homes; they were made, but i sorta like the idea of them having families. lol. mama orc and papa orc and little baby orc.
p.p.p.s. i liked the fact that there were no good and bad guys in troy. i liked that you could see both sides of the story, how both the greeks and the trojans were human and they were both fighting for things they believed in (well, some of them at least). cause, a lotta times, they don't show u that, like Aku was saying about the orcs and the japanese and such

No need to apologize, I understand. After all, I'm also a huge fan of some strange weird movies. So I know how it feels when ppl criticizes my favorite movies. Don't feel embarrased, you have your right to an opinion. Maybe in the future we will agree in another movie. 🙂

Well here there are no good and bad guys. Thats what makes any story deeper and more interesting then a simple good guy-bad guy.
yeah, i agree with y'all. i think thats what i really loved about troy - u had to stop an question urself like who is right here? neither of them are. that was the one thing i didn't like about lord of the rings. it was obvious who the "bad" guys were and who the "good" guys were. i mean sometimes that's good too, cause the heroes like aragorn arent ruthless killers like achilles. they don't say things like "i see the men i've killed and they call out to me and say 'welcome, brother' " that's a little creepy. imagine seeing all the innocent people u've killed.
finally got a chance to see it and, man, was it crap.
it tries to hard to dethrone lotrs but it misses by a mile. or should i say miles.
the music was just inapproapriate half the time. the romance was too rushed. half the characters are not properly developed cos they were trying to make out two heroes at the same time and it just doesn't work. the script was not impressive and the war scenes are just a big fat mess. some parts had potential but they ended them too soon. the camera's not always focused and it used, in one scene, the highly cursed zooming technique.
can you telll i really didn't like it?
