The Suggestion Thread

The ban was after an accumulation of behaviour. But generally speaking, posting private messages, especially private warnings is a no-no.

Also, this is not the place to query bans. Next time consider using PMs for questions.

Okay Thanks.

Raz, do PMs get auto-deleted after a while or something?

Because I just went looking through my messages for one from back when I first joined, and discovered that I'm missing about a month's worth of PMs from back when I joined.

(yes I'm a packrat and have all my PMs saved, I'd delete them if it were possible for me to download them but it never works).

Ummm...where did they go? 😕 cry

Okay Here is my Idea.... Make it so people who join the site need to have a certain amount of posts before they can make a Thread, Like 100 or 50.... [b]OR make them do something that makes them know about already done threads and such. These people who join in a day then just make duplicate threads, and 4 in a row is annoying....Maybe a test on the rules?

Thats My Idea...

Just out of curiosity, but is this going to be taken into consideration, Raz?

With the new search engine and all it makes it hard to find threads unless you know the whole name of it. New people keep making threads that have already been made.

Possibly Also:

When people join, see if you can have the ip scan do a sock check when their account is created, and then disable them from posting if it comes up with a positive match, so itll slow the flow of socks...

Sounds like a good idea, hopefully it can be put into practice ✅

What would happen if a member was to post from another member's house though? I for one has posted from a computer of another member in el past..

Vinny did say when the account is created, not just for the ensuing posting purposes.

Here's an idea, but I don't know if it's feasible; before creating an account using another, already registered person's computer, perhaps said person could make one of the staff aware that this is intended? I PMed Raz to ask if my brother could sign up using my computer while he was staying at mine for a visit, because I didn't want him to be 'caught out', so to speak. I'm not sure if it's possible to do that because it may cause an influx of PM requests being sent to the staff members which will create more work for them 😬

I take full credit for thatmhm

You're welcome to it, I sincerely hope it makes you happy 😛

Oh it will, then Ill demand a profit of 70% everytime it's implemented, and at the rate of socks coming through here daily, Ill be a rich bastard in a week 😈

Only 70%? Hardly what I would call ambitious. Raz would get a 5% cut if it were mine, and that's being generous 😛

Isn't PMing Raz just to make a couple of posts while at a friend's house an awful hastle?

Yeah. ANother thing is that you probablly won't be banned for sock-hood if you post at a friends house for one day or one week, if your a well known member. And if not, you could always e-mail raz, and explain to him the situation.

That's not what I'm saying, I mean if you're going to create an account at a friend's house, subsequently creating multiple accounts via the same IP, you should make Raz or one of the staff aware that it's happening and that it's all kosher. The following posts on the account shouldn't matter, because it'll all be sorted.

I hope other people realize this but Sock Check is useless if someone uses Hide IP or Change I program 😬 Sock check wont show up anything.... So we have all kinds of Possible socks no one can prove or not.

We are working on a solution for this.

This may include measures to stop all people using proxies. We still need to discuss it further.
