It'd be great if it could be done without obvious consequences for the forum. As Ken said, any posts with the obsolete smilies in them would end up looking out of place. If there was a way to see which smilies had never been used and start with deleting the duplicates of those... or something. I know it's probably impossible, but it'd be ideal 🙂

Sort of like a thing that happened in ancient Athens. A way for the public to exile others. This is how it would work.
Members PM names of other members want banned (temp, 2 weeks) to a particular mod or official.
If a member gets a certain number of votes, say 10 then a thread is made with a poll.
Members vote if they want them banned or not.
If their is a significant majority, they are banned for 2 weeks.

Errr, this thread was not originally made asking about a science forum. Someone made a thread asking about that and it had a poll; when the thread was merged with this the poll was as well.
I doubt there'll be a science forum as there is no interest for one.

You know that could possibly get you, AC, Snoopy, PVS, Ush, me and lots of other decently contributing users banned, just because some sock trolls have a grudge?
Also, how would you make sure socks don't vote? Or users that themselves don't really contribute?
