I don't seem to recall any such thing and the forum's post count (under 8,000) seems to back that one up.

Again, I'm not quite sure how to define the word "popular" ... but in any case, there are other forums listed on the main page that have a post count around (or even below) that number, but no one's suggesting that they be deleted!

Sarah Connor Chronicles is going to be cancelled before the season's through.

How can you possibly know that? It could very well be successful!

Because Sarah Connors is such a minor character in the overall Terminator chronology. Not many know her by name, and the Terminator fan base is a small fan base. It will have terrible ratings.

As for your reply to Lana...learn to read posts.

My Suggestions

1. Favorite Smilies - Click Here To Understand

2. Be able to search the Custom Smilies by user who uploaded. The page itself states "All uploads are logged and linked to usernames.", so the basis for search is already there,

3. Dump the History forum, it gets very few posts, any history talk could be taken back to the GDF considering how few and far between the threads would be.

4. Lose the LOST forum, almost every new post is only in the stickied thread "L O S T, throw every other thread into that, move it to the proper TV forum.

5. Comic Book 'Versus' and Comic Book 'Respect' forums should be made sub-forums of the Comic Book Movies forum. Save space on the index page.

6. Remove the Terminator forum completely. Check how many posts it has and when the latest posts have been. It is a ghost town over there.

7. Foreign Cinema was a failure from the beginning. Move the threads to Movie Discussions and call it a day.

8. Get rid of the Matrix forum, it was big back in the day, but it hasn't even had a single post in over a week. When it does get new posts it is maybe one or two, then another week before another post. When I see a thread with the latest post being in January only 11 threads down something tells me the forum is dead.

As you can tell, I've called for the deletion of many forums because of the same reason.

I gotta say ... somewhat predictably, I disagree with you completely! Sarah Connor is not a minor character in the overall chronology! After John Connor, I would argue that she is in fact the most important one (and they obviously cannot have the Terminator itself as the main character in a new TV spin-off series!). I have no doubt that *many* people know her by name, and whatever you may say of the forum here at the KMC, the "Terminator" fan base as a whole could not be said to be a small one! Why don't we just wait and see how the show does, eh?

And my apologies for missing your post, but there's no need for a patronising "learn to read posts" remark. And besides, you seem to be one of few vocally lobbying for the closure of some of the forums you mention in your post.

Because the mention of Terminator makes Terminator fetishists squeal? 13

Sigh ... the last three pages of this thread are filled with posts by me attempting to justify that very question.

Well ... if people on here still don't agree with me, then I guess that there's nothing more that I can say ...

Its still busy 😆

Most of those posts are just 'it was a good movie that influenced lots and the forum has been here a long time'.

If the forum gets no traffic, why keep it? Ninja Turtles might have been a good cartoon, but no traffic = pointless forum. Now its gone.

Only because you guys are now posting to keep it alive. Was it still busy a week ago before this was even brought up? No.

if we keep it busy you wont close it 😛

On a different note, why delete it?

Ya why ??

Redundancy. Most of the threads can be dispersed to their respective forums: DVD, TV, Movie Discussion etc. Besides the upcoming tv series and 4th movie (which can be filed under 'Terminator 4' thread in the Sci Fi forum, and 'Sarah Connor Chronicles' in TV forum) there is nothing expansive to add to that forum. The existing threads have very little post counts, and half the page dates back a few months since the last posts.

Speaking of Terminator 4: "Series creator James Cameron and star Arnold Schwarzenegger are currently not involved with the project."
Fail already.

No disagreement. If it was getting regular traffic we wouldnt even be having this conversation, but Im agreeing with Ken's opinion in that it has been dead for a while and probably needs to be looked at whether its worth keeping any longer.

All true, but.....why delete it?

What is the advantage KMC and especially I have from this particular forum being gone?

Out with the old, in with the new I guess. Member demands, out of all the franchise forums (with exception to the 2 new ones) it has the lowest post count, and considering that it has been part of the board for a few years now and still hasnt picked up, it's not doing much.

Replace it with something that will attract more posters and interest. Ninja Turtles got deleted and replaced with Transformers and Indiana Jones srug

You're forgetting one of my key arguments, which was that I genuinely believe that the forum has a lot of potential left in it, because of the upcoming "T4" and "Sarah Connor Chronicles". *That's* why I'm arguing that we should keep the "Terminator" forum - because traffic most definitely will pick up soon; and what's more, I'm confident that it will pick up *significantly*, and that there will be a sufficient amount of "expansive" material, as you put it, to warrant keeping the forum around for the time being.

On this point, as you indicate in the post yourself, this is only the current state of play. And besides - "T3" did perfectly well without Cameron being involved, and I'm sure that "T4" will be a big success as well (perhaps even without Arnold - but who knows whether he'll ultimately sign on for the film or not?).
