WTF? It's time for some Spring Cleaning. Get rid of these people, even if a few of them have been mods for years and you can't bear to do it, it must be done!

I agree with replacing the mods that are not active enough. I understand that people are busy with their real lives but they should step down for while and let someone else get full time position or at least a temp until that mod comes back.

I say Raz sells the forum to dadudemon and Robtard is a global.

Getting rid of mods doesn't sell.

Here is a modest suggestion for some cleaning.

Just get rid of members with past offenses on their records. They been banned before and it's time to throw them out completely. Their jerk and a-hole attitude is what's driving members away.

Yep...

Yep...

I don't think that's accurate at all. I think a lot of those members were very active and made some of the forums very interesting for people. So once they left or were banned for good the caliber of conversation dropped which in turn made other members leave.

The forums I visit nowadays admittedly do feel a lot less aggressive, on the other hand they also seem much slower and often less interesting. Though I can't tell whether that decrease in activity is real or just down to my jaded view after being here so long.

The grass is always greener in the past, apparently.

There are also members that have a "jerk and a-hole attitude" that don't necessarily have past offenses on their record. And there are very few people on KMC that don't have some sort of warning on their record.

So yeah, somehow I doubt getting rid of everyone is going to help the forum any. And frankly, suggestions like that are simply baiting and not helpful in the least.

Seems like the only ones I see around regularly are:

Ush
Peach
BF
Digi
Bada
REXXX
Impediment

Ush, Peach, BF, REXXX and Impediment all do a helluva job IMO. The rest? I dont know, I dont follow them around enough to tell.

Truth be told, no sucking up intended, Ush is my favorite moderator. He's a nice guy who isn't afraid to crack the whip.

While I agree that mods should frequently log on to make sure things are running smoothly -- everyone has a life outside of KMC. That said, if their inactivity isn't a burden on the other mods of those specific forums, then it really shouldn't matter how often they log in because it isn't hurting/hindering anything in the long run.

Just my opinion.

Why was Kramer banned for a month for this thread?

I'd like an answer. Because I've gone through it a few times and can't find what was worth being banned a month over.

If he's being banned for:

>Lana
>Greatest
>same sentence
>without "is no where near the" between it.
>my face.

When Barker and I were saying she ruled the best forum on the site...

I've been on this site going on five years, and have seen things FAR worse go untouched then a single one post joke, that really wasn't in any way, shape or form a personal attack. It was three friends shooting the shit about the forum.

Just seems like a massive case of overkill.

These forums are a sinking ship. Raz hasn't been active in since the end of January and he wasn't what I would have called active then. Some people really need to pull their finger out if they want these forums to actually last the year.

The staff need to take a back seat and actually let the forums work, it's fine banning and closing threads for small things if there is traffic but to do so at the moment is just stupid. If things don't change the forums won't get anymore traffic, moderators seem to target and ban new members for something older members wouldn't even get a warning for. If you treat new members with respect they'll stay, they might get their friends on. It's worth a try. Unless no one gives a damn about these forums anymore. If that's the case let them sink.

And Raz... If you ever read this....

How about some forum consolidation, do we really need like 15 movie forums each getting a post a day? Feel free to expand again if the forum ever picks up again but until then let's condense things.

We've already discussed forum consolidation. The forum is all for it, we're just waiting for Raz to get online and do it.

Ok, cool. No one on these forums actually friends with him? Like in the real world. Just to find out if he's alive and shit.

shrug I think he needs to give someone else Admin duties every time he decides to disappear for months on end. How can we make the forum thrive again if the administrator doesn't even come on?

Raz, oh, Raz, where are you?

We need you more than ever.

Yea i agree we need Raz back to make the needed changes such as this movie merge. In all honesty while raz goes away for a fair bit of time then he choose to have an admin in his stead i would vote for Ushgarak in this case he is an established mod, responsible and mature and he would make changes providing enough were for the idea and it would improve the forum such as the movie merge. If not then Raz does need to be on a lot more than he has been even if it's just once a week at least it something.

Having Ush as backup admin isnt a bad idea. We do need a active admin to make changes.

agreed Ush is an excellent choice

I highly doubt that Ushgarak would want to assume the role. Also, Raz is, at least I assume, the only person on this board with the knowledge of the VB coding that makes KMC what it is. To nominate Ushgarak for vice admin, he would have to know all that Raz knows about VB. One wrong typo and the whole board would be turned upside down, methinks. (I'm not downtalking Ush, by the way, I just made an assumption.)

I don't think another admin would need to know any code, someone would just need additional permissions so they could do things while Raz is away.

Which is exactly why that substitute admin would need to know the code to, say, make the mass movie forum move into the MDF. Or, for example, making name changes for members. The list could go on and on. I mean, if you make a thread in the MDF and I deem that it needs to be moved, all I have to do is press three buttons and *poof*, it's moved to any where I want on the entire board. Methinks that its not as easy with entire forums.
