The Suggestion Thread

I'd agree that there should be rules about conduct, perhaps even type of debating. However the whole point of such a forum would be to have any kind of vs. thread, up to the thread starter. However something like that would likely have to be monitored closely, as even vs. threads within a very specific framework tend to get out of hand.

you might be the best mod for it

I'm not sure I really like the idea of more versus forums... I think a better idea would be to allow the current versus forums to allow everything (maybe by creating a solitary VS forum).

Most comic book fans play videogames and watch films so I'm sure allowing John McClain vs Spiderman & Super Mario would appeal to people.

Lana and by extension GK, REX, etc, will tell you in a resounding voice, "No!", to a Vs. everything forum.

KMC apparently isn't mature enough to have vs. everything forums like every other forum on the net is. Maybe their right, though. Maybe not. KMC does tend to have a higher "idiot to member" ratio than many other sites I frequent.

you mean merge all the current forums? if so, then no. that would be an absolute nightmare.

The more liberal you are with the rules of a versus forum the more it takes for it to be a "nightmare". I really don't see it getting out of hand personally... Not if it is moderated with a sensible attitude.

I'd like to point out that I don't mean an "everything vs" forum... I mean to keep it within the realms of fictional entertainment.

I really fail to see how doing this will pose any more of a problem than the separate, restricted forums.

If a Cross Genre forum were to be created, the other versus forums would still need to remain intact, imo. That way the people who want to participate in debates like Yoda vs. Iron Man, or Neo vs. Aang are free to do so -- but at the same time, the people who don't like the idea of mix matching characters don't have to enter that forum in order to get their 'versus fix'... They can keep doing what they do now.

Anyhow, since the chances of a Cross Genre forum actually happening are extremely low (almost nonexistent) there's really no reason to keep mulling over it.

One is not required to enter every thread within a forum.

^ Agree completely. I was just trying to think of a way to help keep more people happy.

I've seen everything versus forums on other sites and they work just fine. If anyone wants the link (s), pm me.

This was my idea, I addressed Raz personally about it. If it happens, great, if not, there are other web sites.

I think vs forums are a pointless, waste of time, anyway. Thats just my opinion though

They're certainly not for everyone.

I really don't think people would complain if the idea was rolled out though... I reckon it's at least worth a test run.

I tend to agree... They're really not for me. The idea of pitting 2 fictional characters against each other I've always found a pointless exercise. Not to mention the fact that I haven't heard of most of the characters as I just never got into the comic book thing.

On this point, I will remind everyone once more to only make suggestions here. That is what this thread exists for. Do not contact Raz directly. Doing so just makes it look like you are trying to shortcut this thread, and it is not looked well upon.

There's nothing to be gained by continually going over the Everything vs. idea, so please move on.

I pm'd him a while back, I didn't realize at the time it was frowned upon.

But to be fair, Peach and Rexxx have been horribly against it here, "Not gonna happen, deal with it", and what not. Absolutely zero objectivity.

BTW, I see nothing in the forum rules that forbids contacting the admin with ideas. After all, he makes the decision, right?

With all due respect, and I mean that (stress on "respect"😉, it's not your place to tell me when and how to contact Raz. If I were hounding him day in and day out, that's one thing, but I'm not. Ush, I'm not trying to be insubordinate, you know that, but until Raz tells me directly via pm to stop, I won't.

It is very clear, rules-wise, that THIS is the place for suggesting ideas.

Raz makes decisions in contact with the mods. This is the place he set up for such decisions to be communicated, not by PM. It would be absurd to encourage PM communications for suggestions; his inbox would be overwhelmed. Show some courtesy and use the place he set up for it- why do you think he set it up? And what possible difference do you think you can make? You can only say the same things you said here, and Raz will only get the same responses from the mods after consultation. So you get the same result, but you were ruder in the process by trying to go around this thread.

It is exceptionally unseemly for you to contact Raz as if you have some special right to just because the mods here said no- which is exactly how it appears. You just have to deal with the refusal. Your complaint about objectivity makes no sense at all- how are they biased? You think they have some financial stake in saying no? They run vs. areas; they are the experts; they say no. As do I. That is that handled. Now move on.

Your awkward attitude is being noted. I will repeat- If you have a suggestion, suggest it here. If it is rejected here, that is the end of the matter.

Your akward attitude is being noted.

Akward attitude? How am I being akward? I'm not going all Norma Rae on you, man.

I was discussing the possibility of a versus forum here with another moderator ages ago, and they suggested I present it to Raz. That's all I did.

There is a chain of command here, and I respect it immensely, but when I make a suggestion and right away the Global mods are bashing it left and right, then yeah, I'll go over their heads.

I made the suggestions to Raz via pm BEFORE I discussed it here, I didn't pm Raz out of some sense of rejection.

I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm not trying to "undermine" anyone's authority here. You know full well that I adhere to KMC rules better than most other members here.

Yes, your attitude is awkward- as it has been on multiple occasions recently, so there's no point you trying to play the good boy card. And if you PMed Raz beforehand, my advice is to forget about it rather than crowing on saying "Well, I've PMed Raz about it." Like I say, THIS thread is where suggestions get addressed and discussed.

Your idea was shot down because the globals don't like it. That is something you should respect.

That's all I have to say on the matter. If you want to discuss it further, take it to PM.

Back to new suggestions here, please. Like I say, no more is to be gained by talking about everything vs.

So it's ultimately the decision of the globals? Ok.

Consider it dropped.
