Episode III official title- Revenge of the Sith

The title isn't bad...I would have thought to make an even bigger nudge to RotJ he would have done "Fall of the Jedi", but that's just me.

As far as the title go, they're supposed to be cheesy. Lucas has said on more than one occasion that these movies are like a big budget B movie from the 50's. While I thought there were moments of Ep I that sucked (i.e. Jar jar), overall it fit the title perfectly. Everything happened in the movie, because Sidious wanted it to happen, hence, the "Phantom" in the title. Ep II was good, but the editing made Anakin seem like a stalker as opposed to someone in love...the book did a much better job with it. I can't wait to see how everything falls into place in Ep III, it's going to be a great ride! As someone who grew up w/ the Original Trilogy, this has been a wonderful time to be a star wars fan. It saddens me to see some people that are just bitter about it. IMO, it seems like Lucas owes you something. Enjoy it for what it is, a good story, that opens up the imagination!

i think it's perfect. it's naustalgic to return of the jedi.. plus it makes complete sense...

the phantom menace was a terrible title.. sooo obvious that lucas was trying to be oh so artistic and failing miserably.

TPM wasn't a terrible title, it fits the same Flash Gordon sense the other movies have

I agree with ryzak620. The movies are great for the imagination. I don't mind the title at all. I think it fits it all rather nicely...

I didn't like the title at first but I've thought about it all day and it's grown on me. I like it and somehow I've known that one of the prequel titles would be ROTS all along. Shit! the abbreviation is "ROTS"! Thats a bad omen! Change it now George!

I'm a happy chappy! I quite like Revenge of the Sith...like others said, it will tie in nicely with Return of the Jedi...damn! I'm off to watch my Star Wars dvds/videos now! DAMN! Who's excited about the Original Trilogy release on DVD and the Star Wars BAttlefront game??? BOTH released in September!!! Talk about a great way to get ya SW fix before MAy 2005!

does it matter really? I just knew there was gonna be tons of griping when the title was released. I dont care what he would have called it there would have been griping people just cant be happy on the whole that he released all this awesome stuff over the last weeks period. 😖

They finally conquer the galaxy, they wipe out all of the Jedi, so in other words, they have "come back" Just remember what Maul says in TPM. "At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi, at last we will have revenge."

I think the title fits perfectly with Episode 3.

er SMX I think he is lookinf for an exact reason which I dont remember being metioned in the movies.

It wasn't, and if I can recall, it wasn't mentioned in either of the ep 1/2 books either. Knowing evil, they probably blame the jedi for the fall of the sith in the first place.
