I don't think he understands the usage of the word "evolved" in the way you are using it.

In fact, I don't quite think he understands anything period.

He does understand the Fundamentalist Christian mythology quite well. If it wasn't such a wall to get around, it would be impressive.

Did the Bible evolve over billions of years? Why or why not. Why do some people believe that this is not possible. I do not believe that the Bible evolved in any way, I am just making a point. Why do you believe that the Bible could not evolve? Isn't the Bible matter just like everything else? But you believe that simple, inorganic matter evolved into complex, inorganic matter which ultimately evolved into complicated life right? Well, why couldn't the Bible be a product of inorganic matter evolving into a more complex state? We have fossils (i.e. manuscripts). Maybe the Bible is still evolving from inorganic matter. Maybe one day it will evolve into a person. How do you know that this is or is not possible?
This is a joke right, or are you displaying your arrogance and pride again?

I would believe more in the history of the Vorlons from Babylon 5 than I would in the Bible and there is just the same amount of proof for both. 😉

"Then the Vorlons began tinkering with races on a genetic level, in an effort to make the younger races evolve more like them. Among this genetic dabbling, the Vorlons manipulated the younger races to make them see the Vorlons as angelic prophets. Through this action the Vorlons were able to control the perceptions of the younger races."

MAKE SENSE!!! MAKE SENSE!!!

Wrong. You're thinking of Abiogenesis. I've corrected you on this before.

I remember reading somewhere that a goldfish's memory only lasts about 45 seconds. Is it possible that JIA has evolved this trait in order to ignore all recent advancements of knowledge?

I have never really understood that graphic. 😆

To be fair, the Bible has "evolved"--books and texts were added and removed; beliefs have changed. It has not, however, evolved over millions of years, and this thread is so ****ing stupid that it hurts.

I can't comprehend the logic (or lack thereof) that would compare organisms that have the ability to reproduce and change over time to something inorganic (and thus certainly unliving) that is parchment with words written on it.

It boggles the mind.

Isn't the bible known as the living word of god?

Sorry, my translator is not working. 😂

What I mean is, I think that is where JIA is coming from. He is saying that the bible is living and it didn't evolve, so evolution is not true, I think, but I'm not sure.

The Bible?

I've gone through a lot of stages when it comes to religion. And I've made a lot of progress I believe. My relaionship wih God is very much improved. But there are a few things I'm confused about though.

the Bible for one thing. Is believing in the Bible and God the same thing? I wonder sometimes. Some of the things that the Bible says...just don't sound like the things that would come from the God I imagine. Such as gay people for example. Does the Bible really say it's wrong? And if so, why? I undersand homosexual couples cannot produce but there are so many of them with sincere feelings for each other. And if the're not supposed to feel that way...I don't know...It's just some of the things the Bible sas God would send people to Hell for don't sound like the God I imagine when I think of him. And the Bible was written by man...and translated many times...so that is also confusing...

So my main question is, is believing in God he same thing as believing in the Bible?

I'm going to go with no. As there are many different versions of the bible, if the answer were to be yes, then you'd have to ask which version.

I like your name by the way. oh and as of this post I'm responding to you had 1337 posts.

No, you cannot find God in a book. The bible is the word of man about what man thinks god wants, but no one really know what God wants; that is something unknowable.

The question here is should you follow your own faith, or some vile, corrupt, immoral man-made organised religion and it's manuscripts?

If you want to believe there is a 'God' or a being out there... fine. But I'd leave the fetid stench of The Bible, or the Quran and their corresponding organised religions, that are entirely man-made, behind.
