That's not the same thing, denying certain parts of the Bible and still call yourself a devout and Bible-following Christian is like being a PETA member and be a chicken eater.
If you think it's ok and natural to be gay you are denying a passage of the Bible. How one can say the Bible is a holy book and the word of God after saying it's ok to be gay is beyond me.

The gay thing is an example, it's not meant to spark a discussion about the moral status of the actual behavior.

If you believe that the Bible should be taken word for word then I would agree but most people that follow the faith do not believe this, or at least the ones that I’ve talked too. Some believe that the Bible is a set of guidelines and think that many things in it are outdated or flawed because of the time that it was written in and that it was written by man.

Statement: Feceman is a hypocrite, as explained in my last post.

Declaration: Urizen cannot rebutt FeceMan's reply.

Personal Conclusion: FeceMan doesn't know how to explain the "perfection" of his Faith when confronted with the contradictions presented in his text.

Statement: Urizen ignores what FeceMan writes.

Conjecture: Urizen knows what FeceMan writes is true.

Plausible Conclusion: Urizen does not wish to acknowledge that he is wrong.

Statement: Feceman should not feel inclined to prove the validity or perfection of his Faith/Religion, or the Bible, but instead should admit he does not know everything, and that he chooses to beleive what he beleives for his own reasons, and he owes no explanation to myself or anyone else.

Statement: FeceMan does not feel inclined to "prove the validity or perfection" of Christianity, and he does admit that he doesn't know everything. FeceMan also believes what he believes because it is in the Bible.
Second Conclusion: In turn, Feceman should understand why others do not follow his Faith, or beleive what he beleives, and that if he intends for others to follow his beleif, then he has to answer many questions with patience, not sarcasm.

Statement: FeceMan answers patiently and humbly always, up to a point.
Question: What is Feceman's intention ? To defend his choice of Faith, or to entice others to join his Faith ?

Statement: FeceMan's intent is to do what he is compelled to do.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we know, there's violence in the bible. You didn't post anything new, so what is the point of this thread?

I'm tired of bringing those points into other threads. Whenever I bring up the fact that there is violence in the Bible in other threads, it is either ignored, or someone will claim that there is NO violence in the Bible, and the argument starts to get off-topic.

I made this thread, so that all arguments regarding violence in the Bible (atleast started by myself) STAY here.

Let me make it Clear, that the Bible is indeed full of Wisdom. There are wondorful quotes such as "Treat others the Way Thou Wish to be Treated" and "Love Thy Neighbor"

But for every beautiful and loving quote, you can also find a hateful and violent one:

The Bible is not perfect. It is entirely fallible. IT is simply human word, human tradition, human wisdom and emotion. There is no way an All-Loving God inspired it 100%.

If the All-Loving Father exists, then Either God only inspired parts of it, or God is both Good and Evil.

Let us begin: This is the Evidense which shows how Violent, Unreasonable, and Malignant the Bible can be:

************************************************************

(Deuteronomy 3:1-7 NLT)******

"Next we headed for the land of Bashan, where King Og and his army attacked us at Edrei. But the LORD told me, 'Do not be afraid of him, for I have given you victory over Og and his army, giving you his entire land. Treat him just as you treated King Sihon of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon.' So the LORD our God handed King Og and all his people over to us, and we killed them all. We conquered all sixty of his towns, the entire Argob region in his kingdom of Bashan. These were all fortified cities with high walls and barred gates. We also took many unwalled villages at the same time. We completely destroyed the kingdom of Bashan, just as we had destroyed King Sihon of Heshbon. We destroyed all the people in every town we conquered – men, women, and children alike. But we kept all the livestock for ourselves and took plunder from all the towns."

(Joshua 6:20-21 NLT)*******

When the people heard the sound of the horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the city from every side and captured it. They completely destroyed everything in it – men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep, donkeys – everything.

(Leviticus 21:16-23 NLT)

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron that in all future generations, his descendants who have physical defects will not qualify to offer food to their God. No one who has a defect may come near to me, whether he is blind or lame, stunted or deformed, or has a broken foot or hand, or has a humped back or is a dwarf, or has a defective eye, or has oozing sores or scabs on his skin, or has damaged testicles. Even though he is a descendant of Aaron, his physical defects disqualify him from presenting offerings to the LORD by fire. Since he has a blemish, he may not offer food to his God. However, he may eat from the food offered to God, including the holy offerings and the most holy offerings. Yet because of his physical defect, he must never go behind the inner curtain or come near the altar, for this would desecrate my holy places. I am the LORD who makes them holy."

(Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death.

(1 Corinthians 14:33-35 NAB)

As in all the churches of the holy ones, women should keep silent in the churches, for they are not allowed to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says. But if they want to learn anything, they should ask their husbands at home. For it is improper for a woman to speak in the church.

(Luke 14:26 NAB)

If anyone comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he can not be my disciple.

(1 Samuel 19:9-10 NAB)

Then an evil spirit from the Lord came upon Saul as he was sitting in his house with spear in hand and David was playing the harp nearby. Saul tried to nail David to the wall with the spear , but David eluded Saul, so that the spear struck only the wall, and David got away safe.

(Deuteronomy 25:11-12 NLT)

If two Israelite men are fighting and the wife of one tries to rescue her husband by grabbing the testicles of the other man, her hand must be cut off without pity.

I honestly don't know Muslimscholar... ❌

So far no Christian has given me some kind of answer, and I think it's because it will force them to come to terms with the fact that the Bible is not perfect.

Even you can see that.

The problem with admitting that the Bible is not perfect is that it suggests one of two things:

-That God didn't write the Bible
-That God himself is not perfect

Very few Christians are willing to consider either of the two.

This thread is just a repeat on what every other atheist has said, but in a stupid way. It should be closed, there are already threads on this, I made a thread on this. Lil Bitchiness really needs to work better at moderating this forum.

That's what it is. The Bible was put together by humans, with many passages in it by God himself (like the Ten Commandments, and any other quote/line by him).

As a former Christian, why are you having to ask this? Are you feigning ignorance just to be an attention whore? Turning your back on a religion doesn't automatically mean you forget everything about it.

I think he is trying to challenge people who believe that the bible is the holy word of god and cannot be changed by humans because of mystical reasons.

How about you ****ing grow up. Me and Alliance are highly respected members, you, on the other hand, are a ****ing joke. Unless you can show some decency, don't attack others maturity. Also, we are stating our opinion, I'm sure you're for free speech.

Please stop using the word "****ing". Your post would have been impressive without it. As it is, all you have shown is how crude you can be.

I wonder how "****ing", an act of love, would somehow degrade my post. It's expressing my rage and stress due to his stupidity, how dumb he is. Without it, my post wouldn't be as colourful.

You and Alliance are no more or less respected than myself. I can name quite a number of posters who lack respect for you. If staying on your high horse makes you happy, than go for it. 😆

This is why I rarely engage in discussions about theology: people rarely pay attention to what you are trying to see and it becomes a you v. me rant rather than refuting what you are saying with some sort of excerpt of valid argument.

It doesn't matter what the conversation is. If I'm involved, Alliance and Lord xyz will somehow turn it into a personal attack 😆

They want your body, it's soooooo obvious
